Where to begin. This is an adorable little building. It’s irish themed. The decor is spot on, it reminds me of a leprechaun movie, the walls are covered with plaques, pictures, things like that. Even the bathroom has a lot of detail. You can definitely tell its an irish pub. However the building is small, there’s not a lot of tables or booths to fit the building and a lot of tables are not short friendly. Theres not a lot of room so i’d be surprised if a wheelchair could fit. You can also sit at the bar and they have two tvs and they have quite a lot of beers on tap, so if you like tap beer there is plenty of choices. The menu isn’t overloaded so it’s easy to navigate. You can order breakfast or lunch but they close at two in the afternoon on sundays and rest of the week eight at night. It’s a very busy and loud place, so if you don’t mind a lot of noise then you will be okay here. I do like the feature of selling merchandise. They have cups for sale, maybe other stuff I didn’t see. For how busy it was the restaurant wasn’t dirty nor was the bathroom. This is a pub so it’s not exactly kid friendly. And parking is kinda terrible. There’s on the street parking but fills up very fast. We parked across the road at some empty building but unsure if we were allowed to. Prices for a pub is very reasonable here. I didnt expect it to be as cheap as it was. Very affordable. They were short staffed today so I have to take in consideration that service was very slow and the waitress wasn’t very attentive or even friendly. Busy or short staffed or not, customer service is important. You don’t have to be a valley girl and come over at every beckon call but attempt to at least be friendly and smile once in a while. The waitress took my empty drink but never brought me a new one. I’m assuming she forgot. Then we came across maggie who was helping around the restaurant and maggie was a rockstar. Even though it was busy, she wore a smile on her face, made sure we were happy and had what we needed, felt she actually cared about her customers. That’s customer service! If maggie was our waitress I would have given this a definite five star review. I hope maggie gets recognition for this review because she was one of the nicest wait staff I’ve seen in a while. Because of maggie, we will be back. I have purposely left out the name of the waitress who we had because my intention isn’t to get anyone in trouble. Maybe she was having a bad day or just overwhelmed, either way, a smile goes a long way.

I had shepherds pie with bread. The bread was burnt but my husband says that’s how it’s supposed to be? It had a sweet flavor so it was really good, just was confused about being burnt because I ordered a second piece and it was burnt again. Maybe that’s how it was supposed to be though. The shepherds pie was delicious. Very filling and would order it again. I ordered leprechaun bites, had cream cheese in it and was spicy, I loved it! My husband had the macaroni and cheese and he said his was very good as well. You guys have really good food so even though my review may sound like I’m hating, we will still come back because the food is absolutely yummy and I definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try it. It’s a cute little establishment, just noisy and customer service needs some improvement. Thank you maggie for the great service, next time if it’s allowed and your there we will get to request you.

Overall, 3 stars! <3

I was in Bath for work and Byrnes was recommended to me. Wednesdays from 6 to 8 feature local musicians playing Irish music. The food was fantastic!!! I ordered the Irish bangers and mash along with Guiness had made it a great night. One of my co-workers asked about dessert and the waitress brought it out for us to see. I got a slice of cheesecake made with Bailey’s Irish creme to finish it off. I definitely recommend going again and again.

Great small town Irish Pub. They have the regular bar fare, but they also have a tasty Shepherd’s Pie. Go ahead and get the ba bacon on top. Live a little. Staff was great and the place has a comfortable bar feel. The Guinness bread is a must.

We stopped in because we heard the music and the albeit reluctant allure of a Guinness beer in a pint glass. But after entering and smelling the food we decided to try a little. We started with Celtic Cesar salad with anchovies for an extra dollar. It was fabulous and so we tried the Irish onion soup with a slice of Guinness bread for an additional dollar. The soup was amazing with a hint of Guinness and robust onion taste. It was light on the cheese but paired with the slightly sweet bread it was delectable. So it was two for two. We then decided to try two specialty drinks a the bloody Irishman and the Brynes bacon Bloody Mary. Wow were they well constructed. Both came with a slice of lemon and slice of lime, two olives and stalk of celery. Everything you need for a wholesome meal. The biggest difference is that the Bloody Irishman has a hint of Guinness and no bacon. Both drinks went down easy and were sufficiently strong that you know you had a well constructed drink. And you know what goes well with Bloody Mary??? Pastrami! We then ordered pastrami poutine and the Brooklyn pastrami sandwich with a side of ginger coleslaw. It was served on marble rye with a single pickle Speer. The pickle was as good as any New York deli so we asked for two more. The pastrami was lean and very tasty, both dishes were a hit. The ginger sesame coleslaw was refreshing and surprisingly crisp. The only thing left to do was sample the dessert. We ordered the bread pudding. It was on the dry side with overly crisp bread. The only downside was the dessert. It was surprisingly just like someone else’s mom used to make and I didn’t eat that one either. It’s a five star “hole in the wall” with great music on Wednesday. The musicians are all unpaid and so I am sure the quality varies but today it was great. This bar food is certainly the best I have ever had and for the meal components, they compare favorably with some fine dining I have had. If you are in town or passing through you have to stop in and put this review to the test. It was fairly priced a lot of food and two drinks for $70.

Food was OK, nothing special but not terrible either.
Nachos were good, until you were the top layer and only have a pile of chips. Very dry, even the parts with cheese lol.
Got a half order of Mac & Cheese, it was burnt a little but otherwise it was alright. It’s the old fashioned homemade kind which I enjoy but not everyone does bc again it can be dry and the burnt didn’t help I’m sure.
Wings were pretty good.
The chicken burger had this cashamole sauce which is a guacamole basically but it had like the tiniest smear of it on there as you can see in the photo so again a little dry.
If you like dried out food then this is definitely the place for you.
It was very busy and very fill as there was a Christmas singalong but they have it every year so they should be prepared. LOTS of kids running around but may have just been bc of the holiday sing a long. Not really my scene for a bar.
I don’t think I’d go back overall. Just ok food, just ok service and atmosphere.
Very cluttered and not sure how clean it is, especially since they just walked around all the candy the kids smashed into the floor instead of sweeping it up right in the entry way

Byrne’s feels like a neighborhood pub, the kind of place where regulars love to gather and welcoming of newcomers too. The food was outstanding! We had leprechaun balls for a starter which were great. My wife had a delicious sandwich and I had bangers & mash, which was excellent. We got desserts to go, bread pudding and cheesecake. They were both very tasty. I can’t wait to bring some extended family here when they come to visit Maine.
