Had an absolutely amazing experience today at this hidden gem of a restaurant!
Tried their Hyderabadi Dum Chicken Biryani, and oh wow — the flavors were spot on! The rice was perfectly layered with tender chicken, rich aroma, and that authentic spice balance that instantly took me back to Hyderabad itself.
The Mutton Haleem was another star — thick, meaty, and bursting with flavor. You could really taste the slow-cooked goodness in every bite.
And to top it all off, the owner was so warm and polite — even surprised us with a complimentary Mirchi ka Salan, which perfectly complemented the biryani and elevated the whole meal to the next level.
Overall, it was one of those meals that truly hit home — authentic taste, generous hospitality, and an experience that felt straight out of Hyderabad!
Highly recommend this place
The Biryani was very authentic and one of best I have ever had. Part of the masala has medium sized fruit seeds (pits) that add to the flavor ( you don’t eat that ) which really gives a fullness to the flavor along with the other spices. The Butter Chicken (halal preparation) which I personally pour over the Biryani, was equally amazing with a homemade butter sauce that just opens up your flavor buds with a deep mild spice that was just perfect. We also ordered the appetizer Chicken Samosas with the mint chutney that was likely one of the best Samosas I’ve had in the entire Bay Area. To wash it all down I couldn’t resist the Mango Lassi of course.
The menu was confusing, with prices scratched out and rewritten. We ordered chicken tikka masala but were served chicken skewers instead. When we told the server, he said, “I thought you would like the chicken skewer.” The food was barely warm, the sauces were very watery, and everything tasted bland.
Overall, the restaurant seemed poorly managed. Between the long wait, the wrong order, and the lack of proper dine-in setup, it just wasn’t worth the time or money.
For my first visit, I opted for their takeout Chicken Biryani. It was incredibly delicious! The spiced rice was generous, and the three pieces of chicken were perfectly cooked. I’ve only had biryani a few times before, but Azeem’s version was truly a delight.
I’ll definitely be adding Azeem’s to my list of go-to takeout restaurants. I can’t wait to try their in-house dining experience as well.
The staff are friendly, attentive, and make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. Service is quick without feeling rushed, which makes the dining experience even better.
Overall, Azeem Restaurant is a wonderful spot for a casual meal with family or friends. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for tasty food and good service, and I look forward to coming back again.
I recently went back to try chicken Karahi and Rasmalai. Chicken Kahai had whole spices, making it delicious and Rasmalai was delightful (less sweet).
I have tried Haleem from different restaurants and can definitely say, this one is the best in bay area.
Thanks!
The chicken biryani is Authentic, aromatic and delicious. The vegetable biryani is also perfect. Clean and new restaurant.
It was tasteless and very little no taste at all in it.
Shami kabab, honestly was not for eating it was smell so bad.
Black dall was okay but it seemed from long ago cooked.
Only one plain bread was $5
It was very expensive
We had fries for our kids
We paid $4 but honestly they brought for birds not human
It was wasting time to eat there and it would be our first and last time there. So frustrating
