The teriyaki chicken with rice is cooked very nicely and came out perfectly how I like it with a nice amount of sesame seeds to compliment the sauce. The complimentary broth with tofu cube was appreciated and served as a nice appetizer for the greater meal too. My only recommendation would be to order water for your beverage and bring a flavored drink of your own to save $5.

This is more of a 1.5 star review, but I rounded up to 2. The food here is very average. They have a decent teriyaki chicken, but everything else I have tried, including multiple ramen dishes, have been very mediocre. The sushi here, on the other hand, is absolutely abysmal. I have never been to a place where the sushi tastes like absolutely nothing. I’m not sure how that’s even possible. The rice is also very mushy. And it wasn’t just a one time thing, this has happened every time I’ve tried a sushi roll.
What’s even worse than the sushi is the service here – it flat out sucks. I typically eat alone in this restaurant, and I am more often than not completely ignored by the staff. They will visit me twice – once to bring my food and once to bring the check. It can literally take up to 30 minutes (this has actually happened twice) to get the check from the server. Another server, Zion Woods, suspiciously had my card for about 10 minutes the last time I was in here. All of the servers here turn all their attention to large tables and forget about other customers.
If you want decent Japanese food, Sakura Express in Ghent is a great option. If you want sushi, try Volcano Bistro. Do not support this establishment.

Got 3 sushi rolls and an order of miso. sushi was just okay, I was expecting more for the price, but yknow there was a hair in one of my rolls which immediately takes away points. The miso was actually really good, one of the best misos I’ve ever had, but it’s a really small portion size for the price (the spoon pictured is mine and not included with the soup)

Holy cow. The food was fantastic. I had a Philly Roll and hot sake to start and ended with some Ramen. Delicious. Will definitely come back and recommend. Staff was also good with getting our order correct and friendly.

First off the server was very nice, but that is the only positive thing I can say. I am an ODU alum so familiar with the place. The cleanliness is awful, sticky tables, soy sauce bottles and benches. There were 3 ladies behind the counter and the place was empty so why couldn’t they wipe tables? They have Japanese style noren drapes leading to the bathroom and to the kitchen. These were absolutely filthy, and to use the restroom, also not clean- you have to pass through it.. The gyoza had a funny aftertaste and ramen was just not good. Such a shame, such space and potential. I’m sure people would travel to go there for a goid product.But they must be focusing on grubhub.

Ordered Uber Eats from here and was probably the worst sushi I’ve ever had. Harris Teeter sushi is better than this. Ordered the Hott Lady Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll and the inside of them look exactly the same. It’s fish and filler mixed together into a log. Pretty unappetizing. Could only tolerate one piece of each. Expected fresher ingredients for the price. Won’t be eating here again.

– Tonkotsu Ramen w/pork: Pretty good, but wasn’t crazy about the broth flavor and the pork had a lot of fat on it. Would not order this again.
– Butterfly sushi: I could barely see any Spicy Tuna on it, so it was mostly rice, shrimp tempura, and crab. If they put more tuna, it would have a much better flavor. Would not order this again.
– Side salad: It must have been frozen on one side or something as a lot of the lettuce and all the cucumbers were translucent, floppy, and inedible. Was hoping that the ginger dressing would be more tangy, but it’s a bit more creamy or mayonnaise-y & just not like the typical ginger dressing I get at other places. Would not order this again.

The Gyoza and O-Katsu ramen were an absolutely comfort meal for these past chilly weeks we’ve had! The pork and herbs in the gyoza has been one of the best I’ve had in the area so far. And the katsu ramen is quite filling and definitely worth splitting between two people as the cutlet is massive. Definitely one of my favorites aside from Kappo Nara!

We had a wonderful time. Our Osaka was flavorful and fresh. Our Rice bowls were well seasoned with fluffy rice, egg, onions. The waitresses were very pleasant and accommodating even during such a busy time. Muriel checked on us also.
