4 stars. My friends talk about this place like it’s a culinary landmark, and honestly, the energy alone almost sold me—the staff is awesome and the vibe is top-tier.
The sandwich itself was a bit of a reality check, though. It was a perfectly fine, standard turkey and cheese, but it didn’t quite hit the legendary status I was promised. That said, even a ‘mediocre’ sandwich here is reliable and fresh, and since the atmosphere is so great, I’ll happily come back to hang out—I might just try a different menu item next time!

I understand working in the service industry because I have and I know what it’s like. This isn’t an issue with the food because I very much enjoyed my sandwich. I didn’t want to order online I wanted to speak with a person because there were some things I wanted to change and the online menu didn’t have the options. Whoever I spoke to today at around 4:30, it was a woman, acted like me wanting to speak to her and order by phone was the most annoying thing ever. She just sounded so bothered. I was halfway through my order and still speaking when I heard her say “will you take this order from me?” and some other employee, a man, took over and finished my order. I found this extremely rude and I asked what the issue was and he said that she was running two cash registers at the same time so she couldn’t stay on the phone and finish my order, mind you it was just two sandwiches. Once again the food was great, but customer service is essential for people to continue to come back again. We all have bad days, but you’re representing a whole company when you act like that to a customer.
Also upon picking up the order there was no one else in the restaurant, they were not busy. So yes this felt personal. She was definitely annoyed I called and I guess I had too many questions. Very disappointing. Then I was afraid after I asked what the problem was that they could have messed with my food because I annoyed them. I don’t want the same generic apology that all of the other reviews have I just wanted to share my experience.

This was my first time eating at Groucho’s Deli. The food was great. I choose the turkey & bacon blt Club. And I must say the sandwich was packed with both turkey & bacon with baked chips. The server Skyy P did an amazing job. She was kind, and very polite. The atmosphere was very chilling as well. I will be returning again.

I ordered online for the first time today because I saw Grouchos offered a gluten free sub roll. Let me tell you, this is the best sub I’ve been able to get my hands on in 2 years since going gluten free! It didnt fall apart, it was a nice size ( not a tiny portion) and the ingredients were amazing. You have a customer for life!

Waited 15 minutes for a server at lunch today. More interested in talking behind the counter amongst each other. Had to leave and go to jersey mikes on cherry road. Stood at the front door for 20 seconds before I left to see if they would notice. Noticed I was leaving and didn’t seem to care whatsoever. 2:00 servers need to go.

Pretty tasty little lunch spot. Wide selection of breads, meats, and cheeses, all customizable to your needs. Also, ask about their secret menu, they have one online with some unique pairings. Service was a tad bit slow however it was a busy lunch day so we’ll give them a pass as they were extremely friendly. Overall good choice for a quick bite, will definitely return!

Food was a disappointment. We saw the reviews and figured a deli sandwich would be a great lunch. Sad to find out that we regretted the decision. The staff had decent service but the food is extremely over priced for what you get. 10 bucks can you a full sub at any other deli establishment. Here at Groucho’s it barely gets you a sub. In the photos attached you can see the small sandwich’s and rationed potato salad. On top of that it took over 30 mins for out food and ended up having to get everything to go. Sandwich’s are normally pretty fast but here it seems to be a challenge. I would not personally make the decision to eat here ever again but eat at your own risk. Very pricy for little to no food.

Went in about 15 mins before close to place a to go order. Was told I couldn’t place an order because they had already put everything away. I don’t think you should have your hours listed until a certain time if you’re going to just close early. Will not be returning.

Just had another excellent meal from Groucho’s Deli in Rock Hill, SC. It is one of my absolute favorite lunch places! In my opinion, they have the best salads in town! My favorites are the “Bacon Cheddar Salad” and their famous “My Wife’s Salad Bowl” (aka: the ultimate salad experience). Both of these salads are so HUGE that we always order extra salad dressing! We sometimes share one or take half home for later! I highly recommend GROUCHO’S DELI to anyone who is in the mood for great food!
