This is a little hot deli or restaurant inside El Super mercado Monterey. The food is ok to me, it used to be better but they’ve seemed to cheap out these days. That doesn’t mean the food is down right bad, it’s still ok food.
One thing that bothers me is the amount of noise around the hot deli/restaurant, there isn’t much separating the restaurant from the grocery store so all the sounds from the music and the tortilla machine (that’s right next to the restaurant btw) gets mixed up with a tv they have at the restaurant that’s also kinda loud at times. For me that kinda bothers me.
They do have seating in the restaurant, enough for roughly 28-32 people if it gets that packed (it usually isn’t packed btw). Only complaint there is that sometimes the tables aren’t cleaned so you might find sause or salt or meat sprinkled on the table.
Also, the restaurant does have a habit of running out of certain meats or menu items when it gets close to closing time. There has been many times that I’ve come in near closing and they didn’t have anymore bread for tortas. Just a heads up.
All in all, it’s average in terms of Mexican hot delis/in-grocery store restaurants.
