We need more local food places like Marty’s. The burgers are delicious and consistent, fries are always good – poutine is also good to get every now and then as well.

This review is for issues with my delivery order. I ordered poutine and it’s clearly in the Uber eats receipt but not on the receipt for the restaurant. Even though im very disappointed to be missing 1/3 of my order ( and the item I was most looking forward to eating) UE issued a refund luckily. Im concerned there is something going on with the restaurant’s ticket printer because these receipts dont make sense and it appears the restaurant receipts are leaving items out.

I ordered take-out. They told me it’s ready in 10 minutes. Sure enough, I was there picking up my order and it was ready for me. Friendly staff, delicious food, and ready on time. Flavorful cheeseburger, layered with fresh ingredients and their sauce is so good. Crispy fries. I will be back!

My friend and I are big fans of both Marty’s locations in Jersey City. The food is fantastic and we have never had a bad experience. On Sunday we ordered Marty’s on Uber Eats and realized after the fact that we had made a mistake and immediately cancelled and reordered. Uber refused to give us a refund despite the fact that the restaurant did not make the original order. The employees and management went out of their way to rectify the situation and I must applaud their customer service!! Uber Eats is a leech for many small businesses and causes problems that can hurt the reputation of businesses even when it is not their fault. Thank you to Marty’s for the amazing customer service and, as always, the best burger and fries in the city!! Special shoutout to one employee named Christian who was very kind on the phone and seemed like he genuinely wanted to help us. I will always recommend marty’s!!

The bun is NOT VEGAN, nor is the sauce. I am giving this review because I think they should have more than one bun option and be clear on their website that the bun is not vegan. The worker who helped me on the phone was lovely by the way! You would think making a vegan burger when the patty is PREMADE would not be that hard! Most people are not even vegetarian so having the impossible patty option is really a waste of time if it does not cater to both dietary needs. That is just what makes sense to me but businesses don’t really care about sense when the goal is to make money and put anything on the menu.

Now hey, lookit, it’s a good burger. Is it the best you can get in town? Not a chance. Is it even close? No way. But if you’re looking for a good smashburger and fries for $17 in McGinley Square, this is your spot. I got the double cheeseburger with bacon and fries. The meat quality of the patties was low (see pic). They put what looks like one strip of bacon on it. It wasn’t juicy, wasn’t super hearty even as a double, wasn’t much to write home about. The fries were solid. Hard to mess up fries. I sat inside to eat it and the ambiance is hole-in-wall meets employee breakroom.
If you’re into big, juicy meat between a bun, you’re better off with Park Tavern or Dullboy, which by far have the greatest burgers in town and should be the benchmark for anyone looking to get by selling burgers and fries for $17+.
