We had a fantastic experience. The cocktails, wine and beer were all great and the happy hour was very clearly communicated. The food was delicious and the service by Flor was excellent – very friendly and attentive. We would definitely come back!

Decided to stop by here for early dinner happy hour. We had the pleasure of having Valentina as our server. La Trattoria on Ocean Drive has a great location and a pleasant outdoor atmosphere, but overall the experience was just okay. The food was decent and nicely presented, though nothing really stood out flavor-wise. Service was fine but fairly average — friendly enough, just not especially attentive. It’s a convenient spot if you’re already on Ocean Drive, but not a place I’d go out of my way to revisit.

Serious Payment Handling Concerns (Check #115)
Our experience raised significant concerns regarding how payments were handled.
1. Apple Pay Non-Responsive: Despite visible Apple Pay signage, the terminal emitted no NFC signal when attempting payment (iPhone showed no activation prompt).
2. Two Mastercard Attempts: After Apple Pay failed, we attempted payment with two different Mastercard credit cards — both with sufficient available funds to cover the bill many times over. We were told each transaction was “declined.”
3. Bank Confirmation: Our bank later confirmed that no transaction authorization request was ever received on their system for any of the attempted payments.
4. Redirection to Cash: Immediately after stating the cards were “declined,” staff directed us to withdraw cash from a specific basement ATM, with noticeable insistence.
5. Undisclosed Charges: A 20% service charge was automatically added, and $9 was charged for water. These were not clearly disclosed in advance.
6. Management Conduct: While attempting to verify the issue with our bank, management became confrontational, isolated us from our table, and ultimately asked us to leave before the matter was resolved.
The combination of non-responsive payment systems, absence of bank authorization attempts, and pressure to use a specific ATM created a highly uncomfortable situation.
I strongly recommend that customers verify their receipts and payment confirmations carefully before leaving.

We were genuinely impressed! The lunch special for only $14.99 was not just affordable, but also really tasty and fresh. We had the lemon chicken with vegetables – light, healthy, and full of flavor.

Food was great, liked the presentation but I guess the most intriguing part is the seating outside with an exquisite vibe. Service was awesome, we hardly had to wait for our food given the capacity at the restaurant.

The pizza and salad were good quality, fresh ingredients and nicely presented, though I’ve had better elsewhere, especially given the hype from the reviews. That said, the pasta was a better, creamy and delicious, and the kids loved it, which is always a win.
