True to its name, Down Home Eatery is a has a menu that hearkens one’s delight in comfort food and good Ole American appetites! I had a grilled cheese sandwich and rosemary fries. I ate about half of the very generous serving of fries by the time I arrived home, as they were so delicious. And the grilled cheese was sublime. Nice, family owned restaurant, which may seem a bit out of the way for Evanstonians or passers-through, but it’s well worth an extra mile or two out of town, and the LeBarons will make it worth your while!!!

Wow! The food was Excellent! Home cooked feeling. Owner was very personalable and gave us recommendations to some sight seeing. 2 white baby Buffalo are in the state park. Going to see them now. I’m glad we drove out to the this eatery.

I have eaten here a couple of times and I have always come away happy! They made my omelet to order, just the way I like it. They have amazing pot roast and their steaks are really good! Very friendly and great service!

Took the family there for breakfast. Great breakfast burritos, hash browns, biscuits, and eggs. Had some pecan pie for shared dessert – excellent flakey crust – quality home cooking! Also nice to have a restaurant outside of Evanston in the countryside. It needs some fixing up on the outside to attract more passerbys but the food is great!

We stumbled upon this cute, adorable, CLEAN cafe. We’re huge on cleanliness. They have an excellent breakfast. Delicious coffee, omelets, hasbrowns, and biscuits. The costumer service couldn’t have been better!
