Best Thanksgiving turkey I have ever tasted. Every part of the course was amazing! Juicy and smokey. It was even better the next day in some soup.

Very good experience at Fitties BBQ. I had the 1-meat lean brisket plate with beans and potato salad. The brisket consisted of 4 nicely sized slices. Every bite was delicious, and the prices were extremely reasonable!

Fitties BBQ is a delicious hidden gem tucked inside a humble trailer park off Highway 71 in Bastrop. The moment you pull in, you’ll notice the simplicity of the setup—no frills, just a smoker-filled trailer with serious barbecue game. The menu is posted on a rustic wooden fence, and despite the informal vibe, everything is well-organized and inviting.

One thing to know in advance: customers are required to order through the drive-through window—even if you’re dining on-site. According to the friendly staff, this rule exists because of their insurance policy. It helps reduce liability by keeping all customer activity within designated drive-through zones. So even if it feels unnecessary, you’ll need to circle through with your vehicle.

After picking up your food, you’re welcome to sit at the picnic tables scattered around the grassy lot. That’s exactly what I did—enjoying a hearty plate of ribs, sausage, potato salad, and beans. The portion was generous, the flavors smoked to perfection, and the price very reasonable ($20 all-in). My only gripe? The flies. It’s Texas, it’s summer, and it’s open air—so come prepared to defend your meal.

Overall, if you’re looking for honest BBQ in a low-key setting, Fitties delivers. Just follow the rules, bring bug spray, and let the smoky flavors do the rest.

I enjoyed every bit of my meal. Was passing through from Austin headed to Houston. I found it on on maps. The chicken was so moist and tender, the brisket was cooked perfect and the barbecue sauce was just right, not too light and not overwhelming. if you’re passing through, please stop by here you won’t regret it!

TLDR: THE BREAKFAST MENU IS AMAZING.

This place has long been a solid and trustworthy Bastrop-area staple, for BBQ (highly recommend the chopped beef sandwich), and breakfast tacos.

This review is about breakfast tacos though.
If you need somewhere to make your daily breakfast stop: FITTIES

*EASILY* one of *THE* most *cost efficient* and *DELICIOUS* nutrient dense breakfast spots in Bastrop. Their breakfast tacos are 3 items for under $5. They are huge (like, actually heavy, compared to big city breakfast tacos that you pay $9 for). I get the double bacon egg and there’s something like two whole eggs in there, each item cooked to perfection. My mind is blown. JR and his people really know how to make beautiful food and give the people something memorable that’s worth their money, worth their time and worth coming back for more. God Bless Fitties!

After a long day at work my coworker and I stopped by and were highly satisfied by the customer service, delicious food, and how fast we got our food. We talked with J.O. and he took care of us and even provided samples since it was our first time. Overall 10/10 experience and will definitely be stopping at Fitties anytime we do work out in Bastrop in the future!

Some of the best brisket I’ve had, hands down!! The sauce is wonderful, not too sweet with a nice complimentary kick to it. The cheeseburger is also worth the wait. I’m so glad we found a great bbq spot near our apartments in south Austin!

No photos because I ate it too fast. Definitely try the breakfast tacos OR the chopped brisket sandwich with pickles. Top notch service, delicious meal, and a fantastic price.

Kind and friendly service, helpful when I was deciding what I want. The brisket was the softest and most tender I’ve had. As far as BBQ goes Fitties should be on your bucket list. Ordered the kin folk and it exceeded my expectations 100%

Stopped by to grab some lunch. Grabbed a 3 meat plate (Lean Brisket, Ribs and a second helping of brisket). Double side of potato salad. Everything was outstanding. Meats were tender and full of flavor. Great BBQ sauce. Just the right amount of sweet to complement the savory smoked flavor of the meat. Probably the best potato salad that I have had in Texas. Service was excellent. Nice little drive thru. Mentioned that I was looking forward to the breakfast menu which is served until 11:00. I missed it by 30 minutes. Fortunately I was able to get my hands on a “Marty” breakfast taco while waiting for the meal. Absolutely delicious. Just the right amount of each of the ingredients (Bacon, potatoes, brisket, a little beans and BBQ sauce). Not one item was over powering the other. Great balance. Can’t wait to go back.
