I had a beach bliss iced latte. So good and I love that they use coffee ice cubes. The staff was attentive, friendly and quick. Walkable from the CU Boulder campus. Best coffee around!

We tried Bad Ass Coffee today for the first time. We used to frequent Amante Coffee 2-3 times a week when it was at this location on Baseline and 28th near the Dark Horse. We would go on a 20 mile bike ride on Boulder’s bike paths and end our trip sipping amazing Amante coffee on the upstairs deck enjoying the lovely view of the Flatirons. But Amante closed after the pandemic and we have had to find other coffee shops to frequent. When we landed at Bad Ass Coffee today, we were so excited to continue our tradition with yummy coffee on the deck after a long ride. The atmosphere is beach-y and fresh, the staff friendly and bright. We had such great expectations! We ordered their signature Kona coffee, a 5-minute French-pressed cup each, and after a few disappointing sips of what tasted little more than brown water, we asked if we could pay for and add a shot of espresso to get our cups to a more palatable strength. Expecting a rich deep blend of nutty Kona Arabica, we were disappointed to instead taste a weak and bitter cup of brown water, even with the added shot. Then we thought maybe Bad Ass Coffee is just getting its feet after opening less than two months ago, and haven’t gotten the coffee to water brewing ratios right yet, so let’s buy some Kona beans and make a stronger cup, like we like, at home. But the beans were an unreasonable $60-$70 per 12 oz not-organic bag! We would love to have Bad Ass Coffee be our new coffee shop, but not unless they can brew a fresh rich cup of proper coffee. For now we will go back to Brewing Market and Ozo Coffee.

We tried Bad Ass for the first time today and it lived up to its name 🙂 We loved this place. The atmosphere is very fun and inviting. The staff were very friendly and helpful. But what about the coffee? AMAZING! Sometimes the syrups and milk smother out the taste of the coffee at other coffee shops, but not here. The coffee taste came through and was delicious. The mac nut flavor in the latte put it over the top. The coffee ice cubes used in the iced coffee was an unexpected bonus. We will be back and I highly recommend this coffee shop to anyone looking for a new place.

Wow, Bad Ass coffee is absolutely delicious, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was absolutely mind blowing. Cool surfboards on the wall, and the decorations made me feel like I was in Hawaii.
It was such a treat to feel the essence of this epic coffee shop in the heart of Boulder I can’t wait to go back.

Tasty brewed coffee, though the employees need to be taught complete sentences (“Name?”; “Room?”). Also chairs are like cheap lawn furniture and uncomfortable.

Shockingly bad coffee. I’ve never had such terrible coffee from a coffee shop. The cold brew tastes like 3 day old coffee sitting in the fridge. I have no idea how it could be so bad but I couldn’t drink it. There was almost no one in the coffee shop and now I understand why. I don’t write reviews but it was so bad I felt compelled to post this. Mostly bc I’m just surprised about how terrible this coffee was.

Bad Ass is a great new coffee shop in Boulder. Not only is the coffee delicious and high quality — they also offer flavors you don’t see everywhere else. Eg., Mac nut and coconut! One of my all time favorites. A little taste of aloha on a Saturday morning.
