We visited Coney Island Drive-Inn, January 2026. We arrived close to opening time, so it was quiet when we arrived. Although it didn’t stay that way very long. By the time we left, there were people taking up most inside and outdoor covered tables. So they get a good crowd.
Coney Island probably took its name from the famous Coney Island in New York, that in itself, world renown for hot dogs, among other things. So the “World Famous Footlong” moniker is fitting to go with their name.
The establishment consists of multiple buildings, a covered outdoor dining section, as well as an outdoor section behind the building. Coney Island is covered with lots of memorabilia and such basically everywhere. A lot of younger folks probably won’t know what they are looking at, when it comes to some things. But they’ll probably realize that it’s old and cool. And the noise level definitely grows with the crowd.
The restaurant itself isn’t the cleanest place we’ve ever been. But it wasn’t filthy either. It is probably difficult to keep a place like this extremely sanitized. So just go with it and enjoy the experience. It is fun looking around and having this type of food.
Now the food. We didn’t find the food to be all that great. I’m not going to say what we ordered since tastes and opinions do differ drastically. You may find the food different than what we felt. But next time we stop in, we’ll probably try something else on the menu. The food wasn’t terrible. But to us, it definitely didn’t live up to all the hype. Maybe what we didn’t try yet will change our opinion. And your opinion may also be totally different. Either way, it’s worth the time to visit and try out Coney Island Drive-Inn. The memorabilia probably makes it worth the visit. I gave them four stars more for the experience. If we enjoy the food better next time, maybe the rating will change.

Stopped by because son-in-law said Elvis ate here and it had a great footlocker chilli cheese dog. He was right and the onion rings, Alligator sausage were also very good. Will return in the future and it has a charm in the Elvis era and way.

This continues to be an awesome spot for hot dogs. Love mine with coleslaw or chilli. They also make a great Reuben dog.
Fridays they celebrate ‘fish fry Friday, which is a large fried filet of fish, with fries, for $6.00. Delicious.
Very friendly service staff, especially Kristin.
Plenty of parking. Seating inside or outside

Coney Island is a Brooksville institution going back decades of providing awesome food, hospitality, and community engagement. Any time we have friends that come up, or family in town, it’s the top of their list.

Eating under the gorgeous trees, enjoying a classic piece of Americana offers an experience more than just a hot dog stand.

The service with a smile is a point of Southern pride. Shout out to Megan, who helped us out today, and to every person we’ve talked to over the last decade.

It’s been here a while, and here’s to many more hopeful years. I can’t imagine our landscape without it.

I visited the place last October 13, 2025 which was a Monday. The service was fast and the ambiance was cool. There were a lot of memorabilia from Elvis. If you love Elvis, they have a newspaper that they kept in a frame. However, the location in my opinion was not ideal because it is close to the bathroom and if you want to read it, you are not able to do so because it’s dark and a lot of bathroom traffic. The food in my opinion was ok.

If you like taking pictures or like Elvis, or like historic landmarks – then this is a place to visit!

Hit the or ❤️ if you find this helpful. Bon appetit!

Visited here two days ago and still thinking about the food. I ordered the Chicago dog, which I’ve never tried before, along with the fried corn. It was so amazing that I ended up ordering a chili dog afterwards. I will definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu.

The best dogs around and even better customer service. The outside seating is great for parties and kids. They also loved all the memorabilia throughout the inside. Highly recommend!

First time here while finishing up a bike ride on the Good Neighbor Trail. We had a crispy cord dog, a chili and onions footlong hot dog, fries, and two all-American burgers. The food was so good! We will be back!
