Was out on a job. Asked where could I get a good lunch. Was told to give soulful choices a try. I went for the catfish, fries, and a drink this time. I opened up the box and had two healthy looking pieces of fish and plenty of fries. I will certainly be grabbing lunch here again next time I’m near by.

I ordered the Soul Fried Chicken with fries and green beans as well as the smothered pork chops, green beans, and Mac & cheese dinner with a side of Philly Cheese steak eggrolls. The food was EXCELLENT!!! Although I only got one pork chop, the eggrolls made up for that. The seasoning and taste was on point. The staff was friendly and pleasant. This has now become a MUST STOP restaurant.

I went here after seeing a couple of promising Youtube reviews and amazing pictures. Unfortunately, the food was gross.
The mac and cheese was dry, and had some sort of funky cheese mixed in, giving it an unpleasant taste. The mashed potatoes were like the kind you get in school, (although I do like those potatoes) I would expect more from an actual restaurant. Absolutely no seasoning in the potatoes themselves, but the gravy was alright. The fish was okay, but didn’t have enough flavor outside of being very salty. Tatar sauce was clearly Kraft (or whatever generic bottled sauce) and whatever hot sauce brand used (little packets) was honestly despicable and probably one of the worst aspects of the entire meal. I liked the cornbread muffin, but that’s not enough to make up for the meal. They were out of every single dessert except the chocolate cake which didn’t look very appetizing. I will say, everything came out hot which I appreciate, and the service was great.
Ultimately I am extremely disappointed. I don’t feel like I got the same quality food as what I see in other pictures from this restaurant or from reviews. I ate a little of each item and threw the rest away, none of it being good enough to want to salvage. Not sure if there’s been some staff changes, quality cutbacks, or just a bad day, but I won’t be returning to find out.

First visit since it used to be Big Mama’s. The food was excellent: savory, well-portioned, & filling.
However, my only concern is the price inconsistency. I’m not a fan of establishments that charge what they want as opposed to what’s on the menu.
This is a longstanding issue with black-owned businesses (I’m black, so I can say it), so I hope this does not adversely affect yours going forward. I will visit again if I’m in the area.

For some reason Im assuming that a lot of people love having hair still on chicken. This is my second time saying something about it to the young lady wearing th bonnet. But it never fails whoever is cleaning the chicken may not be cleaning it correctly. By the time I was done picking the hair out I almost had a small ponytail on the side, chicken was over cooked and hard. They have completely lost me as a customer. I will never come back again.

The gravy was the only good thing and the cashier. The cook is rude and nasty bc I want my son gravy on side bc he may take sugar on his rice instead. she told me next time it would be a charge she couldn’t even look me in the face and say it pleasantly. She shuffled round with an attitude like she was being inconvenience when I said this at the start of my order, granted she didn’t ring me up but she stated this after I realized they didn’t put the gravy in the bag. The fries was terrible and cooked in old grease and the pork chops had NO BREADING on them! They was like how yt ppl fry breakfast chops. They had so many items not on the menu, banana pudding, big red cake, fried corn on the Cobb so why they was even listed idk. The Mac and cheese was flavorless as others said. You have to watch the folks cooking you eat behind bc if they spirit is bad and off then they don’t care about the food they making you. I wouldn’t come back and eat again. She don’t appreciate the money you spending and I was ready to buy all the items I listed but, she was stuck on being funky about some gravy on the side and baby we can all make gravy and pork chops so stop the shenanigans, ma’am thankfully my son chop look better, I guess she let the batter rest on it longer then mine

Had been waiting to go here for a while
Tried to do an order over thw phone which i understood why they wouldnt do without the payment. So i went there places an order and was told that it would be 15 mins which i didnt have a ptoblem. When i went back in then i was told it would be another 12 mins which took antotal of 35 mins to get the food that i had ordered. There waa no place to wait and it was hot outside which i know they dont have anything to with tue weather. But to have to wait to get food that long was cery disappointing then to not be able to get the sides that i had ordered on top of it. The fish wasn’t that good and the 2 little.peices for the price, I wouldnt get again. The mac n cheese didnt have flavor and i didnt like the green beans either and the corn bread was dry..i don’t know if they were havibg a bad day or what but to pay $50 for some food and it dudnt taste good i was very disappointed. The wings were good in the soul box and i thought it was priced right but not sure if i would return.

Food is just mediocre. To much salt, Not a fan. The worst greens I’ve ever tasted. When you looking for Soul food I’m looking for everything to be made from scratch. Mashed potato was from a bag or a box. But then Greens was horrible.
