You probably missed it when you were looking for it… it’s that sexy and mysterious black door. The name of the restaurant is so subtle. Such a tease and I’m here for it. Inside doesn’t disappoint. I was obsessed with the gorgeous glass bricks on the exterior. We sat at the bar because that’s our vibe. We love hanging with the bartenders. They were all so nice and attentive. Our water glasses were never empty. They waited patiently for breaks in our conversation to ask if we needed anything. They paced the plates out perfectly. Every bite was fun and interesting and most importantly different from any place I’ve ever been. The menu was full of unique kinds of food, prepared and mixed up in different ways that really intrigued us. I wanted a single bite of all of it. Their tequila selection was beyond impressive. A whole wall from counter to ceiling, they have to climb to get things from the top. The bone marrow tacos were an obvious choice, please get them – don’t be a wuss. The cocktails were nice too. I HATE espresso martinis…but this place changed my mind! It was perfectly bitter with a hint of sweetness, didn’t have that artificial coffee flavor either. So so good! Can’t wait to come back here. Valet next door was only $12! Super easy. Parking downtown can be so annoying.

Drinks were good.
Food was…like when your friend says she can elevate a taco by doing something to it and you don’t quite know what that something was and you can’t figure it out even hours later. It was just weird.
They took a shot at elevating Mexican food and just whiffed on some dishes. A few staples were ok.
The Pavlova and Chocolate cake at the end were actually worse than the dinner. Like eating sand. Sand would have been a better investment.
Bone marrow tacos are cool to look at but…just don’t.
Fish tacos are…fried fish tacos. Ok.
Go for a drink. Maybe an app and just choose your main carefully. Like I said. There are some things that are fine.
Also it’s very dark inside.

It was our first time here, and reservations are definitely recommended. As a Michelin-star restaurant, you can feel the elevated experience from the start. With its inspiration in Mexican cuisine, we were eager to try it—especially since I have a Mexican background.
We were seated right away and started with salads topped with roasted crickets, followed by flavorful fish tacos. The lamb barbacoa entrée, however, was disappointing. At $70+, it didn’t live up to expectations—too mushy in texture and not at all reminiscent of true barbacoa. It left a lot to be desired.
The ambiance was also challenging. The restaurant is extremely dark, making it hard to appreciate the details of the food and décor. On the positive side, service was phenomenal—the staff went the extra mile to explain the menu and the overall concept.
This has the potential to be an outstanding experience if they adjust the lighting and rethink the music. For now, it feels like a missed opportunity. Hopefully, next time will be better.

Ella and Alieana were amazing. They were funny, super attentive, and just really helpful the whole time. Both my friend and I have allergies, and they took it seriously and made everything easy for us. We felt totally comfortable ordering, which isn’t always the case.
And the food was unreal. Easily some of the best I’ve ever had.
It was my first time there, but definitely not my last

We came in for our 2 year anniversary and Alex was a lovely server! All the food was great but the pescado tacos (not pictured bc we ate it immediately) was our fav dish! Ty for the great time ❤️

Comedor, one of the best dining experiences in Austin for intimate and private dinings. From the moment you walk in, the space feels superb — sleek, warm, and unmistakably Austin with that gorgeous living wall and open kitchen energy.
The menu: Every dish I savored felt thoughtful and bold at the same time. The bone-marrow tacos are legendary for a reason (rich, smoky, and perfectly balanced with the salsa macha), but don’t sleep on the Berkshire pork chop that literally melts in your mouth. The crudo was incredibly fresh and so well balanced, but with a kick of hot to it.
Cocktails are creative (and delicious) — the Repo Ginger and the Oaxaca Marg are worth the visit alone. Service is attentive without being overbearing, and the staff clearly loves what they do; our server gave us perfect recommendations and made the whole night feel effortless.
One tiny nitpick: the lighting is pretty dim (very moody and romantic), so have your phone flashlight ready if you actually want to read the menu or admire the plating in detail. It’s a small trade-off for the vibe they’re going for

I’m a huge fan of Comedor! Where incredible architecture meets delicious food and well paired mezcal. I enjoyed the bone marrow tacos and the wagyu tacos, we had great shareable plates as well. My favorite part was pouring the mezcal down the bone and drinking it with the oils of the meat. This was a recommendation by our server and it was very memorable in flavor! We went here for a birthday dinner and they kindly gifted us the desert. Can’t wait to go back!

A fantastic dining experience with exceptional service. As soon as you walk in you are welcomed by the servers, bartenders and even the managers. The food was beyond anything I expected. The bone marrow tacos are to die for and everything else was just as good. Shout-out to Blake our server who ensured we selected the best dishes for our night out. Also, get the tiramasa. Best thing I have ever eaten.

The atmosphere was nice and the music was relaxing. However, the food was 1 star. To start to got the Heirloom hommus that came with veggies, it was ok. Nothing special. Next we got the bone marrow which the waiter said is what they’re know for but it was bad. It smelled bad when we removed the filling. I can’t even describe the smell. I felt like throwing up. The kale at the bottom tasted better that the expensive bone. (don’t get it!) Than we had NY Strip steak, medium well. It was very salty. I couldn’t even enjoy the flavor because of how salty it was. I wanted to send everything back but my partner refused. It’s a manners thing for him but for the price? Do better. People are paying top dollar. $71 just for the steak. Now the drinks, also not good. We won’t be going back.

Went in for the first time FINALLY with my friend as a sort of “cheer-me-up” girl date/birthday and was blown away with this spot! Rocky was not only our bartender but also an amazing server from the very start, greeting us with warmth. The menu was a little confusing for some things we were unfamiliar with but Rocky gave us great suggestions as well as helped us understand the rest of it. Each dish was uniquely deliciously with rich flavors that paired well with each other. By the end of the night we were perfectly full, KNOWING we’ll be back again! Thank you to Rocky and the staff for making our night so special!
