Paid a visit to this gem with my wife on a weekend getaway. After googling places to eat in the Readstown area, we saw the photos and great reviews for Shovelheads and decided to try it out. Johnny, the owner, was welcoming, helpful and super hospitable. We went with the 4 meat shovelhead crust pizza and were blown away at the flavor, size and appearance of this pizza. A Johnny original, and unlike any other pizza I’ve had since moving to Wisconsin over a year ago. I highly recommend if you’re in the area. Definitely worth the visit.

Spent.the weekend in Readstown for the fall colors. Went to Shovelheads for dinner and drinks great burgers on Friday. Went again on Saturday met the owners Johnny and Becky what great people. Johnny then made us his personal recipe pizza and it is the Best hand made bar pizza we have ever had. We will be visiting our new friends again! Thanks, Dave & Laurie

This place is great. Local town bar with very friendly staff and customers. We had the best pizza I have ever tasted. The rest of the menu looked good too. If you are hungry for pizza or jus a beer and a happy place you need to stop in!
