I had a bad experience several months ago and stopped coming in here. I left a really bad review, but after talking to the owner I decided to delete it. Since then, I drive from Corinth PAST this restaurant to Crittenden, where they are ALWAYS FANTASTIC. Tonight I was nearby, and thought I’d give them another try.
I ordered a burger meal and upgraded my fries with chili and cheese. I asked for the toppings to be packed separately so that the fries didn’t get soggy on the way home. They didn’t do that. So I called and a very nice girl answered the phone, took the information, and said she’d replace my bacon cheeseburger meal meal the next time I came through. Suddenly she said the manager wanted to talk to me and some guy said no, they wouldn’t replace the meal, they would only replace the fries. He argued for a few minutes until I have up.
They knew when I called which order was mine and that they’d screwed it up. This was just petty. The girl had it right before this clown screwed up a second chance by being petty. When I talked to the owner before, he seemed to truly understand customer service, but I’m not sure why his employees don’t get it.
Also, I didn’t get his name so I called back several times and got no answer. Then I called back with a different number and the guy answered. Amazing. Zack was the guy’s name, and I can’t believe he was screening the calls. Pathetic.
Keep the fries. I won’t be back for them.
When our waitress came to take our order, I asked, (because my daughter wanted a hamburger) “did I hear there will be no more hamburgers made this evening, even though you don’t close until 10p.m.? The waitress stated, “yes, actually the internet says 10p.m. only because the drive thru is open until then, however our dining area closes at 9:30p.m.”. I did not escalate the issue because I was just trying to have a nice dinner with my family. As we were eating we continued to watch customers come into the dinning room because the doors were never locked (even after 9:30). In addition, continued to hear nasty and negative comments from McKenzie as we were eating while also having the vacuum being run while we were trying to eat which made it impossible to carry on a conversation with my family, all of which made the entire experience completely uncomfortable!!
As we were getting ready to leave. McKenzie continued to express how upset she was to, apparently have to work, as we all do. And she then stated to a co-worker “yes, I’d like to go home at some point tonight”, in response to a question she was asked.
When at the counter to pay our bill, we asked our waitress to speak to McKenzie so we could express how unprofessional she was voicing her displeasure out loud in front of customers. McKenzie replied to every piece of feedback given “I’m sorry” in a very sarcastic way. Then made it clear to us “that I have a life outside of work that I’d like to get to”. We then realized quickly that our feedback was not received well and we left. As we were leaving we also noticed the hours posted on their front window stated they were open until 10p.m. without defining Lobby hours vs. Drive Thru hrs.
If you have a choice it would be worth the drive to go to a nearby Gold Star, at this point I will not return to Dry Ridge Gold Star and will give my business to the Crittenden, KY location. To any “Ark travelers” please drive to Crittenden, KY (only about 15 min north of this location – verified open till 11p.m. and staff advised if you show at 10:58p.m. you’ll be served; even a hamburger!!!!) and do not allow this restaurant to leave a negative experience when coming to our community!!
