At our Moncks Corner, SC location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Maybe its my fault for trusting this location but I thoroughly enjoy the Summerville and Goose Creek locations, so I gave this one a try as its closer to my home.

First off, I hate ordering within the hour of a place closing. Captain Ds is one of the few things still open around 9 on a Sunday though. I would have ordered online so it could have just been ready when I arrived right around 9, but they have online ordering disabled for this location. So alas, it was just slightly past 9 when I placed my order.

I then proceeded to patiently wait in the drive thru for almost 25 minutes. And that was fine with me bc at least its fresh then, right? More on that later.

But for now, let’s talk about little miss Serena that yall had working drive thru. I think she needs a refresher training course. And thats actually nice compared to what I think she really needs. First she told me the wrong price and when i was trying to correct her (bc my total actually should have been more) she cut me off to say the correct price. Whatever. Was gonna let that slide. But then she opens the windows to hand me the food and ask if I need any sauces. As I was trying to say which sauces I wanted, she starts rolling her hand in the air as if telling me to hurry up. Very rude. Also not a “You’re welcome” to any of my thank yous. No “Have a nice night”. Just nothing but rudeness. Let’s also just throw in that ole girl didn’t even attempt to upsell anything. Not even drinks, the most basic thing you offer alongside food.

Now back to the food. Ain’t no way this was fresh. It was barely even warm when I made it home and I only live 10~ minutes away. But more importantly, why is the spicy fish so damn thin? Also I dont believe it was fresh bc the spicy fish was a little tough to eat actually. And why are the stuffed crab shells so thin/flat now?

Anyway. I will say behind the front counter looked exceptionally clean. I had plenty of time to sit there and look at it. Most younger people don’t clean that well at their jobs.

Do with this info whatever you may. I think I’ll just continue going to the Goose Creek or Summerville locations though.

My wife and I stopped by and everybody just treated us really great. The young lady at the front Alissa, did a wonderful job getting our order. The manager Troy came out and spoke with us also. Overall, it was a great experience. Definitely will come back.

If I could give no stars I honestly would. The customer service was horrific. I went through the drive thru and politely asked if there were any diet or sugar free options for my meal. The order taker told me no there were no options and they only have Pepsi, tea and lemonade. I then asked if there was Diet Pepsi and she got snippy and stated all of our drinks have sugar in them do you want anything else or not. Very rude staff. I then just said that completed my order. Went to the window and there was 3 girls standing near the window talking and clearly not working the 15 minutes I waited for my order. I asked for tartar sauce for my catfish at the window since there was none in the bag and the employee acted as if I was annoying her. My jalapeño poppers were overcooked as the filling was all in the box and the middle was essentially empty. I was truly disappointed and spent my money to feel like a burden to the staff as I interrupted their social hour.

No greeting just here or to go! Very rude customer service , signs as if public is ignorant. Restrooms filthy. Floor dirty in resturant. Not busy. Food brought ” here you go” wow. Drivethru was told to shut off their car. Hush puppies tasted old, weird taste

Nothing changed so obviously management doesn’t care. Second chances are always free. Don’t waste your time. No greeting. HAnds me a sign but no delivery to table was number yelled out . No one else in tge store. Had to get my food from counter. Wth?With? Out of order signs. Staff on cellphones.

I ordered “To Go.” I was very upset to receive cold fish, hard cold fries, my coleslaw was all over my fish as it was NOT in a container. I called and told “The Manager”, he told me coleslaw is NOT put in container. I will NEVER go back there in Moncks Corner,S.C.. Also, there is NO way on the receipt to call corporate. I did send an email with NO response. DON’T waste hard earned money.

Hubby went to order take out! If I had been there the meals would never have left there. I had fish and chicken which looked like fish sticks and chicken livers! He got the sampler and his was the same way! I will only go back tomorrow to get a refund of our pitiful dinners that cost $28.00.

I could not freaking believe I went through the drive through today. Ordered 2 Seafood platers with catfish and fish two side orders bake potato and Mac. $30.00. I came home open it two teenie pieces of fish that put together would make half of awhole fish. Sorry shrimp look like lil shrimps about 4. On each plate I kept a tiny piece of cat fish. Have my son mine so he could have a real meal. Never again of Moncks Corner. Never ever ever! Rip my money off. My Lord. I went in my freezer steam some of my own shrimp ate with darn bake potato and Mac. How in God’s grace they felt good giving me this mess.!

Do not be in a hurry when you go here. The food was good but the drive through took about 45 minutes with only three cars ahead of me. The young people working the drive through are rude.
