“It’s a Mexican FAMILY Restaurant…” Elias Benavidez, the founder of the El Caporal Restaurants, was frequently heard explaining to employees and customers. The first El Caporal was opened in 2004 with that mission to create a Mexican family restaurant, where good food and a comfortable welcome was for everyone. To walk into an El Caporal is to walk into your local Mexican restaurant, and it goes beyond just fajitas, tacos, and margaritas (Although we make delicious fajitas, tacos, and margaritas!). We offer a wide variety of classic Mexican dishes made with the freshest ingredients. Our menu is inspired by our heritage; merging Latin flavors with American favorites.

This was my first experience coming to the El Caporal, and it was DELICIOUS. My wife got the Pollo Sammy which was cooked to her liking. I got the Burrito Chipotle. The flavor was amazing. The menu stated it was “hot” but it wasn’t hot to me. I love spicy. The cheese dip was great with the chips and Ranchero and salsa. Now for dessert we got Churros to go, My wife hasnt found any authentic Churros, until now. They were crispy on the outside, nice and chewy on the inside with the right amount of cinnamon sugar dusted on top. The wait staff was very friendly and fast. I’ll definitely go back here. RECOMMENDED!!!

I eat here regularly and love it every time. They have good salsa and white sauce. Even during busy lunch time the food always come to the table within about ten minutes.

Placed an online order to be picked up at 8 pm. I picked it up at 7:53 and drove 5 minutes home. Food was cold. I was supposed to have crunchy tacos but they were cold and falling apart and they were soft from where they had been sitting so long. I placed the online order at 6:36 pm to be picked up at 8. I’m sure my food was cooked at 6:30.

ordered mexican nachos with no meat. told them i’m vegetarian.. get home and start eating to realize ground beef was hidden under the bed of lettuce. called them and all they could offer was 10% off of next purchase. i spent $13 on nachos that i had to throw away. didn’t offer to remake or refund. just laughed at me and hung up the phone. very rude. will never go back.

We love El Caporal!! We have been to this one and the one in Chesterfield Meadows SC!! The Dinwiddie location has a Burrito Dinwiddie(description is on the board when you enter)- absolutely delicious!! I like their combo choices and I highly recommend the tres leches cake!!

I have never, in 49 years, been to a restaurant with quicker or more friendly service. Our to go order was out literally in minutes…if that! Never seen anything like it!I’d give them 100 stars if I could ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
