I’ve been ordering my cakes from here for birthdays and major events and have always recommended this bakery to my family and friends, which is why this experience was extremely disappointing.
I paid an extra $20 for custom decorations, yet the final product showed poor attention to detail. The toppers were badly cut and looked nothing like the inspiration photo provided. This wasn’t a minor difference, it was a quality issue. (Last photo attached is the inspo)
What’s more frustrating is the response I received after raising my concern. Instead of an apology or accountability, I was told that exact designs are never promised. While I understand that, it does not justify delivering sloppy work, nor does it excuse the lack of a simple apology.
As a loyal customer, this experience has made me seriously question whether I want to continue ordering from here or recommending them to others.

I was so pleased with the outstanding customer service I received from Cakes by Edith. I had contacted them after I picked up my cake to express a concern I had regarding the quality of handwriting that was used when decorating my wedding cake. I wish I remembered the name of the woman I spoke with but she was INCREDIBLY kind and really made an effort to express her appreciation toward me for letting them know my concern. She IMMEDIATELY corrected the situation, asked me to bring the cake back, and got it all straightened away. I can’t even express how much this meant to me. I called CakesbyEdith because they had the best reviews but they far exceeded my expectations!!! We live in AZ and we were in UT for FanX. It was my sister’s 21st birthday and she was “gothic” inspired this year 🙂 21 only happens once so I wanted everything to be perfect. I was hesitant because I didn’t know the bakeries personally and I was relying solely on reviews. After receiving costly quotes from 2 other local bakeries for their “starting” price, CakesbyEdith quoted over a half less than what the others were charging for the exact same size with all the details. After showing them a picture of the cake I was requesting, they assured me it was possible and well within the timeframe I was asking. The finished product did not disappoint and it was almost identical to the inspo pic I had sent them. A 6” triple-layered round on top of a 9” triple-layered round base. And the taste – Oh. My. Goodness! It was chocolate on chocolate and absolutely amazing! We were a party of 10 and barely made it through the 6” round. It was so decadent and just as delicious a few days, as we had plenty left over. It also traveled well, considering its size. I honestly can’t say enough about our amazing experience! It was everything we wanted it to be!!! Thank you so much!

I really wanted to love the pan dulce here because so many people recommend it. I’ve visited multiple times thinking maybe the first experience was a fluke, but unfortunately it’s been consistently dry. The flavors seem good, but freshness makes a big difference with pastries. I hope they can improve the consistency because the reputation definitely sets high expectations.

Love everything they make here, both locations are great. They are always so nice and accommodating. They will do their best to help you, even on a short notice. Not to mention, the price for everything is very reasonable. Highly recommend ordering cakes from here.
