The 3-platter had roughly 2/3 brisket compare to the single brisket meal. Overall the platters seem to be a better deal and you’re definitely gonna have leftovers too :))
The creamy corn was on the sweet side a bit like pudding, I had some as dessert.
I couldn’t try the fries, because of cross contaminated. The raised collar green also a bit sweet.
And the cornbread had also gluten which they brought on a separate plate after I mentioned my Celiac allergy.
We had no reservations and waited for 15-20 minutes. But the better tables were reserved. So if you know when you’re gonna go, putting a reservation is a good idea.
The interior is cozy with lot of lights and throughout the whole dining time it was almost busy. Noise level is ok tho.
The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and full of character — the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable and want to stay longer. It’s perfect both for a relaxed dinner and for special occasions.
The staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. From the moment you walk in, you feel genuinely taken care of, and the service is smooth without feeling rushed.
The food is outstanding. Everything we tried was incredibly flavorful, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with care. You can really taste the quality and effort in every dish. Portions are generous, and the menu has something for everyone.
Overall, this is a fantastic spot with a great atmosphere, amazing food, and excellent service. Highly recommended, and we will definitely be coming back!
Fried green tomatoes were excellent.
Montreal smoked meat sandwich: flavor was good, but the bread was dry and the meats were cut pretty thick.
Ribs were okay at best, they were unfortunately pretty dry and cold when they got to us which was a let down. good portion size though.
mac and cheese was good
brussels sprouts were crunchy but a little too sweet. collard greens were too vinegary and i’ve definitely had better. the fries were nice
Good atmosphere at the restaurant, was quite busy for a thursday night. prices were reasonable
The salad was so huge you could take home half for the next night
Food portions: large and generous so great for leftovers
Price: a little pricey but considering we get more than a meal out of it, it’s not bad.
Food: we ordered the half rack ribs which came with sweet potato fries and fried Brussels as well as the 2 meat platter (brisket and pulled pork) with tater tots and coleslaw. The brisket was delicious, pulled pork was tender but the ribs were chewy and all meats lacked sauce. All the sides were solid though.
Service: a little slow, but it was surprisingly busy for Monday lunchtime. Our server was polite and nice.
Overall: still a good (two) meals, though we felt like the food used to be better.
The waitress also was nice and funny! She’s has Portuguese background and told us good stories about her family farm back home.
