Seems like a lot of regulars frequent this place, the portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. Very homey feeling. Decor is quite outdated. Food was fine. Nothing was delicious. Felt very Midwest American

A Vancouver epicenter for retired gents. The price is cheap and the food is pretty good. INSIDER TIP: Check the daily specials. Order the one that includes coffee. The hot links are fantastic…when they have them. Lately the links are a Friday special. WARNING: They don’t honor the on-line menu prices. Plenty of parking. Check out my profile for more great eateries and cocktail bars. ✌ -VanPort Insider

I didn’t eat here, I was working in the neighborhood and needed a place to charge my phone for a bit. Kyle and the other staff were very polite and accommodating, allowing me to sit at a booth and charge my phone for a bit even after 1:30 the closing time. The food smells great and I’m super thankful to know that there’s still people working in the food business that care and enjoy helping others. I offered to buy something to stay and charge, but they didn’t make me do that. I will definitely be coming back to try the food, because of how polite and thoughtful Kyle and the other employees were. They deserve a round of applause and a raise. Thank you and Merry Christmas

Portions are HUGE! The kids couldn’t even finish the massive pancake with strawberries and whip cream on top. Coffee was good and our cups were never empty. I had the Farmer’s style potatoes- I can see why they are a favorite. We also ordered the taco omelette which was ok. Our waitress/service was kind and friendly!

Recommend the barnyard omelette, the burger isn’t bad either. 2nd favorite diner in Vancouver after Stardust.

Wow!! How have I never known about this gem!? Very clean restaurant and friendly service with great prices! Straightforward menu and good food – we had chicken fried steak and burger as recommended. Nice choices. The fries were yummy! I loved the feel for appreciation LEOs and military there. I loved that they had hand sanitizer on each table as well. I will definitely be back.

Great place for breakfast. Loved the sausage gravy, there was a really tasty herby flavor to it. The biscuits were nice and fluffy too. My son gets the chicken fried steak everywhere we go and said that it was excellent. The prices are the best I’ve seen in Vancouver. Great wait staff as well. Be prepared to wait a little bit for a table and for your food after you order. We will definitely be back.

It’s like stepping into a time warp and I almost expected to see my father sitting in one of the booths as I came in the door, and I’m pretty old. You can tell there’s a certain demographic going on here. But that’s ok, kind of comforting actually.
Here’s the mystery… when I bit into that cheeseburger it was like biting into an actual piece of nostalgia. I mean it stopped me cold! It tasted exactly like I remember hamburgers tasting when I was a kid, and that was before god made dirt. I couldn’t tell if it was the cheddar cheese or the grease or the grill or what, but it was a shock. When you’re 70 years old and a burger takes you straight back to your childhood as if you were riding the way back machine and Mr. Wizard was pulling levers, it kind of takes your breath away!
If the french fries hadn’t been sadly crunchless and boring I would have overlooked a little dust in the decorations and gone 5 stars all the way.
Because the cheeseburger was great. And they served it open face. Remember that? How you basically made your own? When did restaurants stop doing that? Seeing it again reminded me how much I have missed it.
I loved the cup display where you can keep your favorite coffee cup, so you can get your morning joe served in your own best cup. It’s part of that sense of authenticity.
But authenticity can go too far. As I recall, fries weren’t very good when I was a kid either. Sometimes progress is good and should be embraced.
And the decorations are great, but someone should do a bit of deep cleaning on them, things are getting a little dusty.
Don’t mess with the cheeseburger though. That’s perfect.

The restaurant is not big. We came around 11am on Saturday, very busy. We waited about 20mins for a table and another 40 mins for food to come out. People are very friendly. Pancakes, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon toasts are good. Bacons are thick and not crispy enough. Good food overall but not recommended because the wait is not worth it.
