2/26 – let’s start with the beer. Abita on tap here with 6 or so to choose Now the food; for my meal, the sampler & added shrimp Creole (which was my favorite) : wife had the Scallops appy (5star). Henry’s Louisiana Grill is a great place located in downtown Acworth. The food is outstanding and the atmosphere is the most unique in the area. I had the shrimp boil and it was quite spicy. The corn absorbed all the heat, but I finished my plate anyway. You can see some of the other dishes as well as the interior of the restaurant. People drive from all over to come eat the best Cajun food not in NOLA. You should come too and enjoy your experience.

Fantastic experience! Awesome atmosphere. Big menu with lots of options. Everything on it slams. You can pick anything at random and be completely satisfied. The food here is just really outstanding.

First, let me say that we have always been HUGE fans of Henry’s. We’ve celebrated many birthdays, anniversary’s, and even my bachelorette party here. But, there has definitely been a change since Henry sold it, and this last visit was the straw that broke our back. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, which we always do. The smaller portion is $14, but it came with maybe 10 pieces of calamari, and the sauce was like spicy vinegar water. Then, our Ooh-La-La used to always come with a salad, but now you have to pay an additional $4 if you’d like a salad with it. When we did get our entree, the Ooh-La-La was lukewarm at best. The service was also not good for the first time EVER. We waited for a long time to get our drinks refilled, and when we finally did ask for her to refill our drinks, she gave us water (which was not what we ordered). We had to ask to get the original drinks that we ordered, which were teas. She was very rude when she actually gave us the drinks and acted like we did something wrong. There are too many good restaurants in the area to continue to eat at ones that aren’t good and are not cheap. So, needless to say, I’m not sure we’ll go back…and that makes me very sad.

I was in town this past week, and my family was excited to take me to Henry’s. They did note they hadn’t dined at Henry’s since his retirement. The atmosphere was ok – a little chilly. Fans and AC on in February. The service was great. She was punctual, and on the tea refills. However, I ordered the Louisiana Oh La La their signature dish, and it was terrible. The cream sauce was so insanely thick with no flavor at all. The shrimp was mushy in it. My aunt ordered the Bayou cakes (crab & crawfish) and let’s just say there was no crab or crawfish. For the price the quality of food was terrible. If you want your guests to lower their expectations of the food post Henry they should at least lower the prices. Disappointed, and although I’m from out of town my local family will not be returning.

The food and drinks here are delicious. My only complaint is that we had to grab a hot sauce from another table because we didn’t have one. The server came and took it from us to return to the table. She brought us a new one. Even though we were still provided with the item missing from our table, I found it rude to take it from us. It would have been more professional to replace the one from the other table. It definitely left me feeling like I got a slap on the hand, which isn’t the service I expected. It was our first time there and we will likely still return because the food was the star of the show. Overall, a great experience.

Henry’s Louisiana grill has always been a favorite of my wife and I. If we ever pass by, we have to stop. We haven’t been in over a year or so and was super excited to finally dine in again. Our server was excellent and was very attentive. We ordered drinks off the specialty drink list since it was October 1st, and unfortunately both drinks were terrible, I had the spicy margarita and my wife had a berry cocktail both which were un-drinkable. Our food came out, chicken ohh lala and the Liam’s chicken and crabmeat. The chicken oh lala was very bland, I couldn’t taste any seasoning other than a slight spice and the chicken was tough and overcooked, also not the juicy sliced chicken breast that used to be served with it. The chicken bites on the plate remind me of baked Tyson bites… (not a $20 pasta plate) The Liam’s chicken came out super over cooked and only a small part was edible as the chicken was so hard and tough, as well as there not being a single piece of crabmeat in the plate. Overall, for a $100 dollar meal including our drinks, we were super disappointed and saddened as one of our favorite places seems to be cutting corners and cheaping out on food like most other places. Unless something changes I wouldn’t waste my time or travel going there anymore unfortunately.. so sad

While traveling on I75 and looking for a fun place to eat, this popped up as a choice. 4.7 with over 6000 reviews. That looks like a place to check out….
First, it was a busy, revived downtown with charming buildings.
Then we went inside to tin ceilings, great architecture, and friendly faces. We were lucky and got what felt like a private corner booth where we could appreciate the Cajun vibe.
Kelsey, our delightful server was very helpful with her suggestions and checked on us often. Since we were passing through and didn’t know how long before we will be back by we wanted to experience as much of Chef Henry’s as we could.
When I couldn’t decide between grits or jambalaya under my fish, she recommended half and half! They were both fabulous! Even the house salad had a dressing with a little kick. The hush puppies were different and especially good too. I love spicy and my hubby prefers not spicy. There was easily something for both of us to love. Kelsey’s genuine delight in our enjoyment of the food made our meal special too.
This little gem will go in my saved places in my maps as a favorite place just north of Atanta and not too far off the interstate. It is worth the trip!
