We had a bad experience. Sounds awful but this is our history.

The food was good and the front staff were friendly, but the overall experience was disappointing. When our drinks arrived, we weren’t given silverware and had to ask for it. The first set we received was very dirty, and the second set wasn’t clean either. And the end we ask for plastic silverware. My drink was also served in a cracked glass, which felt unsafe, and I even had to ask for a straw instead of being offered one.

On top of that, the bathroom smelled so bad I decided to hold it instead of using it — which really shouldn’t happen in a family restaurant.

The kitchen did well with the food, but the service, cleanliness, and overall upkeep need serious improvement.

My recent visit to this Cracker Barrel was disappointing from start to finish. I ordered the steak and eggs breakfast, and my guest did the same. Unfortunately, the food didn’t deliver. My eggs were runny, even though I ordered them scrambled hard—so much so that I needed a spoon to eat them. The meal was poorly prepared and lacked any real attention to detail.

On top of that, we ordered a Peach Mimosa pitcher, which was overpriced at $19.99 and didn’t live up to expectations. I truly regret not ordering by the glass. It wasn’t worth it in taste or presentation.

The environment was unclean, two flies repeatedly bothered us throughout the meal, making it hard to focus on the food. The floors were dirty, and the overall space felt poorly maintained. The men’s restroom was unacceptable to the point where I chose not to use it. It resembled a portable toilet more than a functioning restaurant facility.

When I voiced my concerns about the Mimosa to Steven, the general manager, I was met with a corporate-style response, not one that prioritized customer experience or resolution. There was no real attempt to make things right or even empathize.

As for service, our server Victoria started off slow and without much energy, but she gradually improved. By the end, she was reasonably efficient. I’d give her a 6 out of 10.

Sadly, this visit confirmed why this location holds a 3.7 rating, and I’m surprised it’s even that high. I won’t be returning, and I can’t recommend it to others.

First time ever trying Cracker Barrel

Order: Grilled chicken with broccoli and beans, fried catfish, meatloaf with sides of dumplings and fried okra.

The Good: The atmosphere is definitely one of Cracker Barrel’s strong points. The decor has a fun, homestyle, and cozy vibe that makes you feel like you’re in a rustic, welcoming space. It’s rare to find a nationwide chain serving comfort food like meatloaf and chicken dumplings, so I appreciated the variety on the menu. The food, for the most part, was fresh and clean-tasting, and the deep-fried items, particularly the catfish and okra, had a solid, crispy texture without being greasy. Also I’m not sure why, but I got a blue plate on my grilled chicken and that made me happy!

The Bad: The service at this location was a bit of a letdown. My waitress seemed to have an attitude, and the monotone, almost arrogant way she spoke didn’t really help the experience. When it comes to the food, it was very standard and honestly, nothing stood out. Everything just tasted kind of plain—like they didn’t put much thought into the seasoning especially salt levels. On top of that, the bathrooms were not very clean, which was another downside.

Overall: I’m open to giving Cracker Barrel another chance at a different location because I know experiences can vary. However, at this particular spot, I wouldn’t rush to return unless I was with others who really wanted to go.

The hostess put a damper on the experience. I asked to be reseated to another location due to the seats being in a high traffic area and I wanted a less traffic area to enjoy conversation. The hostess had a MAJOR attitude about my request to move. I did speak with the manager at the time and I do understand the seating rotation to ensure that all servers have an opportunity to serve. However, it was the attitude of the hostess. The food was luke cool. The server was kind and attentive. I am not sure if I will return to this place … Overall the experience was not that great.

I had to come back and change my initial review from 5 stars to 1 star because the last few times we’ve ordered from here have been horrible. Missing items, cold food, bad customer service, etc. For example, on our last order the gravy was too thick and cold for us to eat.

2024 Update:
Haven’t been here in years but I came today, on Mother’s Day. Came in @ 950 and didn’t get seated until almost noon. Once we were seated, the floor under table had so much food under it, a whole meal could have been made, but we stayed, but waitress came and was very nice and immediately took our order, we already knew what we wanted. She brought our drinks out and the wait began. It was an hour and a half before the food came out. Before it came, the waitress came and apologized and said she would send a manager over, without me having to ask for one. He came over and was very polite and apologetic. But once it came, it was like they should have kept it. The steak was dry and burnt when medium well was ordered, I could have bounced my eggs like a basketball, they were so overcooked and the hash brown casserole was so runny, they were sliding across the plate. I know it’s a holiday and things can get a little backed up but this was terrible. I’ve been here for holidays but this was the worst. The only thing that was good was the peach mimosa.

They always have great good. If you can stand to wait for seating, you will leave out full and satisfied.

Extremely disappointed with this Cracker Barrel! We got on the list thru the app and our wait was consistent with the time we were told. This was especially nice for a Sunday morning.
We were seated at 11:05 am and at 11:22 I went to request a manager since we had not had a waiter or waitress stop by the table yet. When I got back to the table the waitress, Lasia T., was at the table finally. The manager came over about that same time and I expressed our dissatisfaction about the delay with service. While the manger said he was going to take care of the issue I got the feeling that this was normal operations at this location and that nothing was really going to happen or change.
We placed our order for 2 Old Timers Breakfast, one with over easy eggs and one with scrambled eggs. The scrambled eggs had uncooked egg white, bottom right portion of the picture. The over easy eggs had lots of liquid on the plate as well. I didn’t eat any of my eggs and my wife only ate part of the over easy. The biscuits and gravy that are included with the breakfast did not come out and we had to ask for them. The server acted like that was extra but brought them out to us.
While I do not expect nor want something to be comped when I speak to a manager I thought at a bare minimum the manager would come check on us after our food came out to make sure we were taken care of, but that did not happen either.
I expected the waitress (3 Stars on her apron) would have offered an apology when she brought the bill but only said “Happy New Years”.
The payment process asks for a 0-10 on the taste of the food and I gave it a 1, my wife said I was too generous and it deserved a 0!
I normally give any restaurant more than one opportunity because we all have bad days! It is clear from other recent reviews and the lack of management caring that this Cracker Barrel needs a lot of help and will not get another visit from me!

The restrooms left much to be desired.
There was a 20 minute wait for food which wasn’t too bad.

Fortunately they have not changed the decor yet. This is the authentic look and menu we all love ❤️ still

Very busy location, in the mornings there’s about an hour wait gives you time to browse around the store. Host stand isnt very organized usually when theres a line. But once you get seated the food is wonderful, the service can be a bit stretched out but with all the customers its understandable.

Waitress was very rude We waited hour and 30 minutes for our cinnamon rolls. Food was not prepared correctly The lady with the big shoes and curly hair was very rude. The ball man was not doing anything but standing there he was managing he bought two tables and we’ve been here for almost 2 hours. tables were very dirty. We had to rinse our silverware.
