Conned into getting a massive octopus that was way too big for us for €300 even after ordering multiple starters, left a 10% tip and get yelled at by the waiter because they wanted 30% TOURIST TRAP DO NOT GO
It’s an exclusive venue with a great wine portfolio and a great cuisine. And if compared with Milan or Paris it’s actually very reasonably priced.
Cherry on top, Mr. Zdenek, an incredible host and wine connoisseur!
The service was equally troubling. While the menu states that a 12.5% service charge is optional, the waiters insisted it was mandatory.
We were also told that card payments were not possible because “WiFi is not working.” Instead, they suggested withdrawing money from a nearby ATM, or paying in euros at their own exchange rate, which was about 10% worse than the official EUR–CZK rate.
After we raised questions, the staff became unfriendly, stopped smiling, and intentionally ignored us. The whole situation felt tense and dishonest.
As soon as we entered, we were rushed to the table. We didn’t even have time to sit down as the waiter brought heavy wooden menus. We almost broke glasses while in this rush and when we asked to take 2 glasses away, the waiter insisted rudely to pass first the menus while we were still standing and trying to settle in.
In few seconds, she appeared with a very confusing offer of champagne, like it would be a welcome drink but of course it was on our bill in the end.
Menu is confusing, no indication of what exactly you get for the price suggested. No choice of non-seafood options, just few ham cuts and rib-eye for 70€.
Result – 300€ for 6 oysters, few razor clams, 1 small second warm dish, 2 glasses of champagne and 2 ones of wine, and a small plate of lomo ham. Few little compliments were though served as a starter and dessert.
Ah, and 12,5% service fee is included by default.
That was very pretentious and unfair pricing for the amount of food and quality of service we received. Moreover, unacceptable aftertaste of being jerked around.
Great fresh oysters. Amazing crab salad and royal platter.
However what stole the show was the shrimp with harissa butter. Something you never forget.
The only issue we had was the cold rude reception. We where a table of 7 so we had a reservation a few days before. When we arrived they tried telling us that our reservation was canceled without informing us and they where not nice about it.
And the staff are so informed and interesting.
Best restaurant experience of our lives. Filip was so professional and polite, outstanding at explaining the food, textures and food origins & components in detail.
Fantastic ❤️
Service is just great, they don’t overdo it which I appreciate, they respect your privacy and they are are perfectly organized in every sense. And the food…well, it’s fabulous. I’m not giving out reviews often and 5* is a rarity. But hey, when you do things just right there’s no other way than to give back what you’ve been given. Thank you to the staff, you made our evening special!
