TL;DR:
Beautiful space, incredible service, and some of the best scallops I’ve had in a long time. Paige went above and beyond and the Sweet & Sour Scallops are an absolute must-try, especially with a side of chili oil. Highly recommend for a delicious dining experience.
Ambiance: 5/5
The atmosphere was perfect: open, inviting, and not crowded, which made the whole experience feel calm and comfortable. The layout is thoughtfully designed with beautiful art, plenty of space to move around, and a great balance of bar seating and tables. It felt modern and elevated without being pretentious, a.k.a the kind of space where you can actually enjoy your dining experience and conversation.

Paige was absolutely phenomenal. Attentive without hovering, warm without being overbearing, and genuinely knowledgeable about the menu. She made sure we had everything we needed at all times and offered thoughtful recommendations that truly enhanced the meal. Her hospitality elevated the dining experience and set the standard for what excellent service looks like.

AMAZING. Truly. I was torn between two scallop dishes, and thanks to Paige’s recommendation, I went with the Sweet & Sour Scallops, and now I completely understand why they’re a guest favorite. The scallops were perfectly cooked, the flavors balanced beautifully, and adding chili oil on the side took it to a whole new level. If you love seafood, do yourself a favor and order this dish… you will not be disappointed.
Overall, I’ll absolutely be returning, and even though it’ll be hard given how good my meal was, next time, I’ll be exploring even more of the menu.

The food was fantastic! Very delicious spices in the Korean bowl and y husband’s sushi/sashimi platter was excellent. The fish was like butter. We will definitely return to try something new.

This is the best place to eat downtown. There are options for anyone. What I love the most about Beyond is the consistency of the service and quality of food. The specials are always unique and provide a new experience every time I go. I highly recommend.

If you are in the mood for oriental cooking, this is the place to go in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The food is absolutely fabulous. It’s tucked away on a city street so you would never know this restaurant would be here. Doesn’t look like much when you first walk in, but the atmosphere is perfect. If you enjoy sushi, I highly recommend the Volcano, they are to die for. Great experience for me and my family. We’ll definitely come back again. Wish I could rate the food higher than 5 stars. It’s definitely a 10!

Went here on a double date. Incredible service and very generous portions. Food was delicious. The plates are a bit pricey but absolutely worth the money you spend – you will not leave hungry. A tiny bit loud and cramped, but you expect that with downtown and they use the space well, including an upstairs dining area which is a bit quieter. Highly recommend!

Amazing food! Fantastic sushi! No matter what I get here, it always knocks my expectations out of the ballpark. The little patio outside is one of my favorite places to dine, chat with friends. The lady that serves me almost every time I’m here is always so friendly and nice.

i ordered delivery so it was a little more expensive than normal, but the subtotal was $23.85. i ordered the white tuna nigiri, salmon nigiri, and the tri delta hand roll, and when it got delivered to me i was so disappointed bc of how little food there was! there were only 2 pieces of nigiri for each kind of fish and the hand roll was so small 🙁 the food was delicious, just not worth almost $25 (plus delivery fees + tip) for what’s basically an appetizer lol

Solid Asian food! The service was a little slow the night I came in, but I think it was just the server I ended up with so not going to knock stars off there.
The summer special cocktails were delicious (pictured are the Peach Smash and Peach Mojito). We ordered the Pineapple Wontons as an appetizer that was also really good.
For entrees, we had the Crispy Orange Chicken and split some sushi rolls (the Danny and the Red River). It was so much food and we couldn’t finish it all, and the Danny was perhaps the most dense roll I’ve ever seen. That’s not bad because it was amazing, but it was extremely filling.
Very satisfied with the meal here, would absolutely come back when in town.

Stopped in Harrisonburg after a long day trip, planning to grab hot dogs. One whiff from this place and we ditched that plan instantly. Hands down the best pho we’ve ever had in Virginia. Already counting down the days until we’re back.
