Best Fish & Chips in town!
It was a fantastic experience, and Greg, the waiter, made our day. He is super friendly. He made sure that we got what we needed so quick.
We ordered Haddock fish & chips. Its taste was amazing. We all enjoyed it. Besides that, I took the combo platter fish Halibut & shrimp with fries. It was divine. I enjoyed it the most. And also we ordered one seafood chowder, but It was not that good. Coleslaw was nice.
Finally we had “Cheese cake with blueberry ” and
“Lemon meringue pie” for dessert. They are both mouthwatering.

This was our first visit while exploring the Ontario West Coast, and we found the diner to be quite charming. We were fortunate to be in the area on a Saturday, as the restaurant operates only four days a week. We indulged in the Halibut and Chips, which were expertly prepared. The halibut was delectable, the fries were perfectly crispy, and the coleslaw was delightful. Notably, the food was not overly seasoned, contributing to a healthier dining experience with respect to salt usage. I highly recommend this well-managed establishment.

The fish and chips were really good! Got the haddock and cod! The batter was fresh and didn’t taste too oily. The fries were home made and salted well.

Really good fish and chips at a reasonable price. We would definitely go back or recommend this place for the food. The restaurant it self or atmosphere is nothing special but go for the fish and chips! Fish was tasty and the perfect amount of breading. We had the cod.

Simple decor but clean which matters most but the Fish is SECOND TO NONE. Decent quality food, served quickly & again, enjoying the fish here for over 20 yrs… Halibut, Perch & I think Pickerel too. Their batter is so light & flakey, whoch compliments the fresh fish so nicely.

My friend and I ordered Popcorn Shrimps and Halibut Fish & Chips for dinner. The food was very good – The batter was very crunchy. And the popcorn shrimps and fish & chips were fried perfectly! It was one of the best fish and chips dinner we ever had.
The restaurant has quite a few picnic tables in the parking lot for customers to enjoy the food and nice weather. We will definitely go back the next time we visit Port Elgin!

Portion sizes were ridiculously small, 2 halibut meals 60!!! And the fish was tough to chew, i dont know if this is the way its always cooked and dont want to just spew negativity im hoping they can get it together. But I probably wouldn’t go back unfortunately. All the best

Upon arrival we were immediately shown to a table, at which our very pleasant and friendly server arrived within moments. Our order came piping hot within a reasonable time frame. Our food was very good, and plentiful. For fish and chips you can not go wrong with here. We enjoyed everything about it, and would recommend to others.

Had dinner there in August 2024. Had the haddock and fries. The haddock is tasty, flaky and has a really nice crispy breading. Mine came with three smallish rectangular pieces (I got lucky!) but the other 3 members in my group only got two pieces each. Wish the fish portion was a little bigger. The tatar sauce is homemade and is good. The fries are just “ok”, wished they were a little crispier. Also had the onion rings that were cooked well and nice and crispy. Price is reasonable. The place itself is more of a mom and pop feel. Nothing fancy, very basic chairs and old school simple decor. Overall, I would go back if I was in the area.
