Small cozy cafe. Relaxing atmosphere – seating inside and porch with a fantastic view. The staff was really friendly and knowledgeable. There were snacks, drinks, and a handful of other items.
They offered some gift souvenirs items as well.
We enjoyed a short visit, browsed a bit, and then headed on the trail.
It’s a little pop in and out shop.

So you’re telling me there is an ale house in the woods? How does everyone not know about this you say? Because it’s the coolest thing you’ve ever run into. Yes the beers are $10 billion each, but did I mention it’s a ale house in the middle of the woods? All kidding aside it’s a really cool place. Definitely check out. The trails up here are phenomenal. You take the gold belt tram to get up to the – well worth your time even if you’re just in for a cruise ship visit.

Definitely recommend taking the tram up Mt Roberts as this provides a gorgeous view of Juneau. The ride up was about five minutes and recommend that you get on the tram facing the harbour as this will allow you to capture the moment. At the top of the mountain, there is a boutique for shopping however step outside and walk up the mountain. We got about 1 mile from the summit where the grade of the mountain increased and recommend good poles for climbing. At this point we stopped as you will encounter snow and we weren’t prepared for hiking on that terrain. Make sure to have a good camera.

Fantastic views if you have good weather. Hiking trails were fun. Lots of daylight had created an abundance of wildflowers. Totem carving demonstration. You can see an injured eagle up close. Native history presentation and film. Good restaurant.

This was a great an inexpensive place to go as a cruise ship excursion. The tram is right off the pier and you ride it to the top. The nature center was interesting and had helpful information about the area, and there are many hikes that takes off from that point of varying length and difficulty. All the info you need is at the nature center. Great family stop and a good place to get some amazing Alaska pictures.

We were there in July 2018, as soon as our ship docked, we headed for the tram, had to wait for them to open at 8. It was not many people at this hour…amazing view and on the way down we got to gear a song as our conductor playde the skin drum, very unique. Loved it. Since we had limited time, we just looked around the nature center and some hiking, beatiful views!

At $35 per person a bit pricey but does offer spectacular views of Juneau and Gastineau Channel and peak. Not sure when Bald Eagle Lady Baltimore will return to her renovated home here but she will make the cost seem more reasonable. Great hiking trails on the top, just be sure to bring water and bug repellant. Nature center offers advice on trail conditions and bear activity and rents walking sticks. Restaurant on site opens at 11am and gift shops are open when tram is running. Worth doing at least once; price includes all day tram use.

35 dollars per adult for unlimited tram use for the day up and down the mountain. friendly staff and a little souvenir shop, but the hiking trail there seems to go forever! amazing views and even some wild life. you’re able to hike all the way up, or stop at any of the balconies for nice photos. even have an injured bald eagle in captivity they take care of.
