Round up the family and loosen your belt buckles, folks! If you’re lookin’ for a legendary feast in Baytown, you need to set your sights on Daniel’s Bar-B-Que & Meat Market.
Whether you’re a local or just passin’ through on I-10, it’s a quick gallop off Thompson and Cedar Bayou Lynchburg Road. Trust me, it’s worth the detour!
The Main Event
We dove into a spread that would make a ranch hand weep with joy. We’re talkin Bacon-wrapped turkey stuffed with boudin (absolute perfection!) Snap-at-the-bite sausage, tender smoked turkey, and delectable pork ribs that’ll make you want to slap yo momma!
The Sides: Creamy mashed potatoes smothered in brown gravy, savory collard greens, and fried cabbage.
The Secret Weapon: You cannot leave without trying their famous chicken stuffing. Trust me, somebody’s grandmammy made this, cause it’s the real deal!
Don’t Forget the Sweet Stuff!
Daniel’s isn’t just a kitchen; it’s a full-blown market with fresh cuts of meat to take home. But listen close: save room for dessert. They’ve got apple pies, decadent chocolate cakes, and cinnamon rolls so huge it practically has its own zip code.
This is a trusty go-to for my family, and I guarantee you’ll leave full and happy. If you’re hungry for authentic Texas flavor, head to Daniel’s Bar-B-Que & Meat Market and tell ’em the locals sent ya!
I don’t understand why they didn’t have higher reviews. If I could give them 20 stars I would !!
I believe they other lady with the long dark brown hair was the manager, she was super friendly and checked up on us and we chatted a bit as we are Canadians heading back North.
The workers, the establishment the food are AMAZING,so whatever you guys are doing keep it up and we will definitely be back again when we come through on our yearly trip !!
For those who have not tried out Daniel’s Bar-B-Que & Meat Market go now!! Lol
You won’t be disappointed!!
Thanks for everything and see y’all soon 🙂
I was instantly greeted by the 2 men behind the line – both friendly and attentive as they prepared that day’s selections. I ordered Daniel’s Breakfast to go – 2 eggs, choice of meat, 2 sides + biscuit or toast. I opted for eggs scrambled, sausage patty and for the sides, grits and pancake + biscuit. I also added a small cup of their sausage gravy.
When saying the meal was HUGE would be an understatement! The portions were giant and made fresh right in front of me! I was anticipating having 1 pancake and 1 sausage patty … I received 2 of each and they were huge! So much food left over after I was beyond full and I was able to eat the remaining portions later in the day. Enough food to feed a small army. The breakfast is $13 and add $2 for the cup of gravy.
It was all so good … I’ll definitely be back for one of the giant cinnamon rolls!
The gentleman behind the meat counter was very friendly and helpful, and offered us a sample of the King Ranch Chicken. This was one of my favorite dishes growing up with my Mom’s excellent cooking, and the Daniel’s version was also excellent. The fellow was so friendly and helpful that I was thinking he must be the proprietor.
They have about 12 different side dish choices including dirty rice, Jambalaya, greens, and lots of other things. We opted for seasoned sliced squash, seasoned corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, and dirty rice – they were all excellent. The cashier was friendly and helpful I was thinking SHE might be the proprietor.
After dinner (which we couldn’t finish), we bought some meat and sausage from their meat market / deli / country store. The lady helping us there was so helpful and friendly I was thinking maybe SHE was the proprietor – very helpful staff all around.
The food was delicious. The portions were bigger than the photos make it look. I recommend the regular BBQ sauce although the Tangy was also good. The King Ranch Chicken was almost as good as my Mom’s! We will definitely be back. We were told that they also open for breakfast serving grits, eggs, and other fare. I highly recommend, and would say this is worth the drive. The atmosphere is country store with animal hunting trophies on the walls, nice clean and organized.
Definitely a great stop when you’re going through Houston. Easy truck parking in the rear. Food was great also $45 for me and my girlfriend with basically enough food for 2 meals for us (picture is just my plate). Boudin Balls are definitely the highlight of the meal I recommend the paper jack ones. Definitely will be back next time im through!
The bbq sauce is not overly sweet.
We also had several sides to try. We tried thier green beans, mac-n-cheese, dirty rice, and skillet corn.
None of those disappointed us.
We will be returning.
Reastraunt was clean, the staff were were cordial and attentive, & there was plenty of parking.
