Great food. Very good prices on beer. The burger had a ton of flavor. The wait staff was nothing but nice to us. It was easy to get a table but I’m sure this place gets busy. I will definitely be back to eat. Butter burger and fries was only 12 dollars.

Maybe it was a bad night but I was disappointed. Barbecue nachos were ok but pulled pork fairly flavorless and very little cheese sauce. Brisket super fatty and cut with grain, not across, so very stringy and not a lot of smoke flavor. Ribs were completely dried out and mostly inedible, like they had been under a heat lamp all day. Corn bread stodgy and too salty. And too salty almost never happens to me, I like alot of salt. Beans just one note sweet. However the apple slaw was very good. $70 for a nachos and 2+2 was not well spent.

Wow wow wow… Wish I was staying in Richmond instead of driving thru… Will definitely stop by on my way back up. Wings are amazing, Sliders with pulled pork are delicious.. Happy Hour definitely worth it!

Cute last min find before we left town, greeted immediately and seated. Waitress was so sweet, very attentive the whole time.

Food- we order the 2meat/2side platter with pork and chicken. Both were amazing, the sauces were also delicious. Definitely enough food to share between two people if you arent wanting a massive meal. Beer, cocktail, and wine selection were also great. Kids menu had about 6 options, which our son loved.

Ordered delivery on a Sunday night around 8:15 PM, and the order was on my doorstep before 9, no delivery fee. The tea-braised collards were really good, everything else was ok. Disappointed that the BBQ by the pound isn’t packed by weight, but by approximation. We ordered half a pound of brisket and got 5.5 oz, or about 30% less than expected. Overall still a decent experience.

First, the people that waited on us were awesome. Very attentive, orders perfect and we didn’t have to ask for anything.
Ok, if it says spicy on the menu, IT’S spicy. Everything we had was fantastic. BBQ was perfect tender, and the cracklins were amazing with the pimento cheese.

Let’s not forget the beverage menu. A great selection of local and not so local craft.

In Richmond, you gotta stop by and tell them the banana bird guy recommended them.

Keep in mind that this is off the Bottom and if they are busy, parking is limited. Well worth the walk.

We were craving Bbq And happened across Oak & Apple. Dani was a server, she was awesome and really helped us on as it was our first time visiting. We came at happy hour, there were some great deals. From that we had the bbq wings, they were perfectly cooked. We also got a Portuguese white wine, great price for the bottle. Dinner consisted of a pile high sandwich with baked beans and the brisket with fries and cornbread. Great food, no complaints at all. The Bbq had a great flavor with just enough smoke flavor. Next time we will sub the fries with another side.
Highly recommend a visit and it was great to sit outside.

A friend and I went on a walk around the Canal. We thought to walk and find a spot to catch some lunch at. As soon as we turned the corner to be on Main Street this smell hit us like a beautiful person walking by with the most delicious perfume. We followed our nose and it led us to Oak & Apple! It was such a hidden gem I knew nothing about. I ordered the Pile High with Fries. The fries taste and appear to be homemade russets. The Pile High is the best burger I have ever had. So much so that I’m writing a review. My first google review.

This was easily the worst barbecue I’ve ever had, so bad that I couldn’t even wait to write this review.

We ordered four meats, four sides, and upgraded to cornbread. The meats were wings, brisket, spare ribs, and pulled pork. Every single one was extremely dry, like beef jerky. We kept trying the next meat hoping something would be better, but nothing was.

The spare ribs were boneless yet so hard it felt like I was chewing bone instead of meat. The chicken wings were even worse. There were so many feathers left in them that when I tried to pull one out, half the drumstick came with it because the meat was that tough.

The cornbread was an absolute brick. It was so hard I couldn’t even poke through it. When I showed our server while literally trying to press into it, he acknowledged it and said he would bring us dinner rolls instead. We never received them, even after the meal was finished.

When I asked for the cornbread to be removed from the bill, I was asked whether we had eaten it. We took one bite and couldn’t eat any more. The server even admitted it may have been sitting under a heat lamp too long.

Overall, the food was terrible and the service was disappointing. Never refilled our drinks and aside from a brief apology, nothing was done to address the issues we raised, including forgotten items.

We were told, “next time will be better,” but there will not be a next time. Definitely not coming back.

Was so excited to hear about this place! I am a huge fan of their other restaurants so we made sure we came to try them out their first day.

It was delicious! Great beer menu as expected. I got the turkey sandwich and boyfriend got the pulled pork sandwich. We tried the Mac & cheese, cornbread, & slaw. Their take on Mac & cheese was mouthwatering—definitely try it. Cornbread was moist and the perfect amount of sweet and salty. Slaw was wet and crunchy (a good thing). Sandwiches were juicy and packed with flavor.

Service was good too—our server gave us a nice amount of space and left us to it, which we personally appreciated, however for the first day of opening I feel like other guests will want a bit more of a connection and information about this new spot! Still kept our drinks filled and asked us if we needed anything which is all we need for great service!

We are totally returning and will recommend!
