In 1983 Robert Merrifield envisioned a new restaurant for Tulsa. The goal was to offer the very finest service and cuisine to guests. That vision became POLO GRILL.
As we celebrate our fourth decade at Polo Grill it is wonderful to see where our journey began and where we have arrived. As Tulsa has changed and grown with the times, so has Polo Grill. What began as a modest bar and single dining room has expanded to our Helmerich main dining room and a total of six private dining rooms, wine cellar, intimate bar and cozy booths in the lounge, garden patio, and the finest wine program in Oklahoma. All of this is offered in an award-winning restaurant staffed by the best service team in the business.
Venerable upscale eatery offering seasonal menus of fine American fare plus an extensive wine list.

Our Tulsa “FAVORITE Dinner Date”
We’ve celebrated every main event in our lives here for probably 30 years! What an exquisite location and interior design. BUT we go for the incredible meals and flavor!

It’s a Monday evening and it was our first time trying this restaurant. We moved here from Kansas City and had the best experience we’ve ever had. My husband was raving about it the entire way home! We were seated promptly and were offered drinks and appetizers upon seating. They were very prompt with our drinks and they even offered to bring out our son’s food first with our soup! Our server was Kenneth and our assistant server was Tamara. We had the arancini appetizer which was to die for. I had the Tomahawk pork chop and my husband had the seafood pavarotti and both were absolutely wonderful! Tamara played peekaboo with our baby which was sooo sweet! The drinks were amazing and their iced tea had a blueberry flavor which was a refreshing taste. Our drinks were never empty and our tables were pre-bussed promptly. We split the key-lime pie which had the perfect blend of sweet/tart with berries. Since it was our first time we were even offered extra soup for the kids and they even threw in a free dessert! The atmosphere was calm and cozy along with live music which was very relaxing. Our server even helped me on our way out, getting the door for us. It was much appreciated as I have a spinal injury. Hands down the best service we’ve ever experienced! We will definitely be back to try more items on the menu!

The food and amazing selection of wine and cocktails is second to none. And the service is amazing. My wife and I have made frequent date nights stops here for the last 3-years. It is our favorite restaurant! Very romantic atmosphere as well. Make a reservation online!

Nice quiet comfortable, upscale dining room. Michael delivered impeccable service. His food and wine pairing recommendations were perfect. He helped us select the right dessert and after dinner beverage to perfectly complete the meal.
The food was incredible! The plate presentation, portions, and amazing flavors. Everything was just perfect.
Thank you, Michael for a lovely evening celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary.

I like that Polo Grill regularly changes their menu. It’s excellent for regulars. TONIGHT, though, I experienced something else that cemented my love for Polo Grill. Right in the middle of dinner… the power went out—for an elongated period. The response by the crew was organized and practiced. Everybody knew their roll and the night manager was in control and calm. It’s a big job to handle a whole restaurant and bar in a crisis, but this place was under control. Thank you everybody and staff. We have a memorable night in a good way!

Has good potential. The place was nice, but the service did not match—slow and inattentive.

We reserved a room for a private event. The event started off well, as the rooms are very nice, but small. Food was great, but service was subpar at best. Some of our customers had to ask for their soup and salads or didn’t feel comfortable asking, so they went without. Main course was really good, but there was a lag in getting the desserts out, so a three of the guests asked for their dessert to go. The wait staff made a comment to them saying, “this was not asked for in advance, but we will see what we can do”. Then none of the desserts came out until all of the guests left. Will not be using this restaurant in the future. As events are supposed to be a positive experience for our customers.

Celebrated our double birthday a little early in this quiet, hard to find grill in Utica Square. Guard at the gate, oops Greeter, seated us at a table in the bar area for some reason though the place was virtually empty. Detracted a little from the celebratory feel. But One of the best charcuterie boards ever. Our perfect martinis accompanied the board nicely. Fine waitress if not very friendly. Rack of lamb was very good. Their wine found a nice Syrah for us. Got free two candles in the cake we purchased.

So maybe my expectations were pretty high, but for the price, I did expect a lot more. It was all a bit average. The steak fritte was recommended highly but it was a pretty average steak. I think I could have gotten the same meal at Saltgrass better. Definitely could have done it cheaper. I have no problem spending money for food, but the quality did match the sticker price. Maybe there’s better luck with the sandwiches.
My server was fabulous, but I do note things took longer than expected. And I overheard a server say to another table, “Oh we could have sent things out faster if we knew you were short on time.” To me it sounds like service time is dragged out on purpose. My time here was an hour and I ordered immediately, so I suspect it’s by design it took so long.

Every time we go to Polo Grill, it’s always a very enjoyable experience! Me and my wife went for Valentines Day this year (2024) and initially had some confusion on where we would be seated. The hostess quickly set us up with a table for 2 in the main dining area (it’s a little more romantic), and the problem was solved. Regarding our food, we started with the lime bacon wrapped shrimp and lobster bisque. Then, for the main course we had the petite filet with crab Oscar style to top and the lamb with War eagle grits. To finish the night off we had the creme brule and the caramel cake. I honestly don’t have a bad thing to say. The staff and food were excellent!!!
