We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Base Camp Pizza Co.! It’s the perfect après-ski spot for any hungry family visiting Lake Tahoe.

The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and ideal for families. The pizza tastes authentic and homemade, made with high-quality ingredients that you can truly taste in every bite. Our pizzas were cooked to perfection — crispy crust, flavorful sauce, and generous toppings.

The service was attentive and fast, even though the restaurant was busy. Yes, the wait time can sometimes be a challenge, especially during peak ski season, but the food is absolutely worth it.

This is an excellent family-friendly spot, and we will definitely be back the next time we’re in Tahoe! Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious, authentic pizza in a fun and lively setting.

We decided to give Base Camp Pizza a try since it’s rated so highly and often recommended in the area. The location is convenient, right in the center of Heavenly Village, but keep in mind that parking requires a fee, which is a bit of a downside.

We came on a Monday evening around dinner time and had about a 15 minute wait, which wasn’t too bad. The staff were very friendly and efficient — service was definitely one of the highlights.

We ordered the Caesar Salad and the Base Camp Pizza. Both dishes were good but not quite as amazing as we expected based on the reviews. The pizza had a thin crust and reminded us of Blaze Pizza in both texture and flavor, tasty, but nothing particularly unique. The salad, we ordered large, was fresh and nicely dressed, though a bit small for the price.

The atmosphere was casual and lively, but there’s currently some construction nearby that takes away from the overall dining experience. Another small inconvenience is that guests have to use the public bathrooms in the shopping area instead of on-site facilities.

Prices felt slightly high for what you get, but it’s understandable given the prime location in the village. Overall, a solid option if you’re already in the area and want a quick, friendly place for pizza, but not necessarily worth going out of your way for.

Honestly speaking, not overrated. The pizza was a 9 1/2 out of 10. Super delicious. The crust had so much flavor with four cheese that is stringy and a very fresh. Red sauce was also sweet and a highlight. We got half base camp and I would highly suggest you try it too. Ethan the bartender helped us and was one of the coolest server we had. Very easy to get along with and had a good attitude.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Base Camp Pizza in Lake Tahoe. We loved everything about it, but the Base Camp Pizza and the Fire Roasted Medley were truly outstanding. The flavors were bold, perfectly balanced, and incredibly fresh, with that great wood-fired character that makes every bite memorable.

The live music is lively and welcoming, the service was warm and attentive, and the food easily lived up to the hype. If you’re in Tahoe and craving exceptional pizza with creative toppings and top-quality ingredients, this place is a must. We’ll definitely be back.

Our dinner experience was pleasant, with live music and outdoor seating (the indoor wait was 20–30 minutes). We ordered calamari, wings, the pear and walnut salad, a large Big Mountain pizza, and a medium Pear & Gorgonzola pizza. I especially loved the salad, and my husband really enjoyed the pizza. We also appreciated the large glasses of water to help us stay hydrated. Our server was professional, which added to the overall positive experience.
It started raining toward the end of our dinner, and we got a little wet. There were outdoor umbrellas, which we tried to open to keep ourselves dry while we quickly paid the bill.

Had the Basecamp and Margherita pizza with cheesy garlic bread. Pizza was a well cooked crisp plat pizza. The toppings on base camp pizza were a perfect combo.

Sat at the bar (first come first serve)- great bar tenders, great service, great pizza.
IMPRESSIVE, tasty gluten-free crust.

Only thing is they do not have bathrooms in the building and you have to walk outside- unideal, and sort of odd.
Also, highly recommend they get hot honey for the pizzas.

The drinks, bartenders, music and the vibe were stellar. The pizza and tasty pear and pecan salad were also fabulous, but after two drinks and new friends from the crowd, we just enjoyed a great evening and could not tell you about dinner specifically

Drinks came fast, bartenders were excellent, did was also very good. Dessert was a warm deep dish cookie with ice cream and chocolate sauce.

Really good night!!! Snow is falling, the skiing was amazing and everyone is having a fun time.

Great location. We waited 15 minutes to get a table. The food came out quickly. Expensive for what we got. $35 for a pizza is overpriced. The pizza was decent. The cheese sticks were expensive and small quantity, especially from a box. Several beer and wines to choose from. It was decent but nothing exceptional like the reviews indicate. No live music just radio. Bathrooms are outside the restaurant in the general area.

I will start by saying my review may be biased since I work at the best, most incredible pizza restaurant in our local town. However, this review is necessary since the pizza we got was a massive let down. Also, others can view the photo & make their own judgements. We ordered our kids a small cheese pizza to go to share in our hotel room & wow. Yikes, see my photo! Saying we were disappointed when we opened the box, is like the understatement of the century. It was over $18 for this!!? We immediately regretted ordering it, haha. It did not even fill the size of the small box & it was like the crust was pre-made or something, idk. There was barely any sauce or cheese on it either. It was just insane to us. We will definitely not be returning!
