This is a Chicago icon! I’m my opinion the best hotdog in Chicago! The Whooper Cheesie Burger is phenomenal too. They have excellent malts too.

If you seek to visit, a true Chicago iconic gem, from the days of yesterday, Superdawg is it. They are on their 76th year in business for a reason. The nostalgia and the quality of the food!

You can order from your parked vehicle and the carhop will deliver everything or you can go inside and order. They get pretty busy at lunchtime and later in the evening.

Very quick service and great food! We got two superdawgs and a large strawberry malt. My husband and I left feeling so full and very satisfied. It only took about 5-10 minutes or so to get our food after we placed the order which was great! Definitely worth a stop.

The auto tipping/gratituy on the POS machine is a turn off for me. Pepsi products no coke.
Glad I got a chance to have the experience but the fries were cooked hard some may say over cooked. The dog was nice and boxed. Didn’t really notice a snap and that’s okay.
Just not something that I must have and I do like their ticket system/written ticket. Too cute.

Great dogs and fries. Some of the best you can get. It’s unfortunate that it’s pretty difficult to get in but there’s an alley in the back that is a bit easier. They make their own crinkle cut fries the proper way. Blanch, drain, dry, fry for short time, remove, then finish fry. Amazing. It’s all good and the cubed cream is great too. They should add speakers in the sitting area. Very quiet in there.

This is a fun, niche fast food place that shouts nostalgia. Ordering is through a speaker, microphone at each parking spot. The menus are printed on back lighted screens. The food service is prompt. They are open late and for many it may be their only after midnight chance for dinner. As the name suggests, Superdawg specializes in hot dogs. Large polish sausage dogs and burgers. It was a fun trip.

There are lots of great Chicago hot dog places. Superdawg has been around a long time and is fairly decent. But you’re basically just going to get a typical dog for a comparatively high price. Worth a visit, but far from the Chicago classic TV shows like to make it out to be.

Love the drive up diner experience, although a little harder to hear out of the old machines. The hot dog itself was tasty, the fixens I thought were great but my husband has a thing with pickles and these have a giant pickle and relish included I loved the pickles and fries but the relish was a.. almost blue/green color? Not sure if that’s normal. The milkshake was AMAZING though, no skimping on ice cream there it was super filling

I stopped by just to see how different this place was. I ordered a Superdawg with fries and a small drink, which came out to over $12. The ordering window was very small, and when I saw the portion size, I was already a little disappointed. When I opened the box, the fries looked lifeless, and after tasting them, I was let down again. Finally, I tried the hot dog — but it tasted just like any other basic hot dog. I kept waiting to experience something special, but it never came. Honestly, for the price, I could have gone to Costco, paid less, and gotten a bigger portion with the same taste . Unfortunately, this visit was a real letdown.

I came here the other day to get my birthday freebie (a free large drink and supersandwich) and it was great! I really enjoyed the drive-in vibes.
My mom and I were a bit confused on how to order, but thankfully the staff and customers were friendly and helped. We got the superdawg, whoopskidawg, and a large lemonade. The wait wasn’t super long and the food was nice and fresh!
The superdawg was a well-made and delicious chicago style hotdog and the whoopskidawg was really good; I loved the ‘special sauce’ (it tasted like BBQ)! Both of the meals came with fries as well. The prices aren’t horrible (~$10 per supersandwhich) considering the supersandwiches come with fries.
Overall, I would definetly recommend this for a cool drive-in restaraunt!

My wife and I went and our food was delicious! We got a super dawg, the sausage, chicken fingers, and a burger, and for desert the root beer float, ice cream bowl, malt, and a cookie and honestly it was the best food we’ve had I. Chicago thus far on our trip! Everything was hot and fresh to order, full of flavor, and our car hop adriana was an absolute treasure! 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking for a great old time drive-in experience
