Was doing a little cafe hopping and found this really cool place called Maddi Mae’s Cafe. Really awesome lunch place and it has a lot of seating. There’s also an ice cream bar in there and it’s really cool. You can also get fresh eggs there which I did and I love them! We ordered the chicken salad sandwich meal and it was very good. Also got this really large bar of chocolate which was absolutely fabulous especially since I’m not a chocolate fan . I will be going back to try more of their options. I got to speak with the owner who is extremely nice! I’m looking forward to trying the options that cover my allergy needs. They were very helpful and extremely nice. I do recommend if you’re in the downtown Athens area, stop in at Maddi Mae’s Cafe, you won’t regret it.

Great little sandwich shop in downtown Athens. Prompt friendly service and the food was fresh, handmade and tasty. Stopped in for breakfast and had a breakfast bagel which was great (would’ve been better on everything bagel) but eggs, cheese and bacon would taste great on pretty much anything. Next time I am in Athens I will definitely be back to try out their lunch offerings.

I have tried it twice now but never again. I ordered a French dip with pasta salad and pickle, just as it is pictured on the menu and an egg salad sandwich with chips and pickle. The egg salad was tasty, but the bread was stale and had tiny pieces of mold on the crust, and there was no pickle with either sandwich, even though I requested one and paid for that. Absolutely the worst French Dip I’ve ever had! The meat was so dry that it was hard to chew and the bread was stale! So disappointed because my family has loved coming to this place for years and it used to be good. I don’t know what has changed, but it’s not worth wasting your money on.

I’ve been a couple times and had good experiences but today not so much. They were out of the first two things I tried to order. Acted like we were bothering them when asking questions about other things on menu. Ordered a chicken bacon melt and then said they would have to substitute another bread because they were out of that also. Tasted like boiled chicken breast with a slice of cheese and a piece of bacon. No taste at all. Wife ordered chicken salad sandwich, chicken salad was good but couldn’t eat the bread. The guy preparing food seemed aggravated by people even walking in. I saw a couple people just turn around and leave. Won’t go back, sorry

Great place for a sandwich and ice cream. I had the club with Italian pasta salad and a sweet tea. My mom had the lobster roll. Environment was really nice and fast to serve!
