I want to love this place more, and I’ve been there a couple years ago and it was way better, but I stopped for lunch and got the 4 meat platter and it was very bad. We waited almost 45 minutes to have some shoe leather and tiny shrimp. The rice and beans were pretty good, and the cabbage slaw was fresh and good but paying $20 for some overcooked, thin sliced meat and dry chicken is too much. Everyone has their off days, but this was one of the worst meals I’ve ever gotten at a restaurant.

Wanted to try a local Mexican restaurant, though the atmosphere gave it a great vibe, the food was not it. It was mediocre at best. I wanted to like it but I just couldn’t. We never got our water, the horchata seemed to be freshly made and blended but tasted exactly like the instant horchata mix from the grocery store which was disappointing. The cabbage lime slaw was interesting, didn’t even know it came with the food, however the lime taste was too strong for my liking. If I knew my dish came with that I would have declined it. The meat had a strong lime taste and little seasoning flavoring, the “steak” was tough, the cut of pork was rubbery and had a bad smell/taste to it, the chicken was dry, and the shrimp was flavorless. I wanted to like this place but unfortunately it was not a great experience.

Great place in town to get tacos. Ready to eat within 15-20 minutes. Friendly staff! They sell most things a Hispanic store does. With a little more support from clients this place could bloom into a signature place in Waterloo.

We were in town to play a show at the Mode Theatre around the corner and needed to grab food ahead of sound check. Tacos were out of this world good, service was fantastic. 10/10 we will certainly be back.

If I could rate this 0 stars, I would. I went there with some buddies and we got a quesidilla and tacos. When we got the food, all of the meat was red. We’ve went there a couple times, and this hasn’t happened before. Yet, this was still very avoidable. When we were done eating, we all expierienced some intestinal issues. We will not be going back there again.

Very quiet and secluded. They didnt have most of the menu items available and the food lacked flavor, especially the rice and beans. Salsa was good but very spicy. Chile rellenos were full of seeds and didnt come with salsa. I probably won’t return
