This is easily our favorite sushi spot! My husband will gladly drive more than an hour just for their Spicy Tuna Lovers Bowl! It’s that incredible. The ingredients are always fresh, the flavors are amazing, and every item feels thoughtfully and perfectly crafted.
The staff is friendly, attentive, and really knowledgeable about the menu, which makes ordering easy and enjoyable.
Top-notch food and service every time. Absolutely worth the drive!

Very high quality sushi. I can tell they always gave top grade sushi. They’re a little inconsistent with their portions, specifically the seafood salad (appetizer) which I LOVE.
But i do know that overall i will always be served top quality meat/seafood.
A little annoying that sometimes they close early if business is slow. There’s no way to know until you show up and they tell you that you can’t be seated, or even place a to go order.

We used to love coming here but we’ve noticed the last few times we’ve came, the quality and taste hasn’t been as great as normal. We ordered to go for Valentines and couldn’t eat 3 of the rolls. One tasted like horseradish which we aren’t a fan of and another roll was very fishy. Miso wasn’t great. Overall – very mid meal for a very large price. Spicy tuna lover, however, wonderful as always.

Some of the best sushi in Baton Rouge. Consistently good! Very busy so plan accordingly. All the rolls are good. Cucumber appetizer very tasty even if you aren’t a big cucumber fan. Service is fast and friendly. Check this out if you are in the area!

Appreciation for the atmosphere and for the service. We were greeted, sat and serviced quickly and respectfully.
My daughter ordered the chicken katsu and I explored the tempura
The tempura was a healthy portion, fried well and came out hot!
My daughter’s katsu was sizeable and was prepared well too.
It was her first time having katsu and she was impressed
We appreciated the complimentary cucumber salad as well as the pineapple at the end of our meal
One downside we noticed was the sauces – tempura dipping and the katsu sauce seemed to have a smoky flavor, which we are not used to
The business seems to be a fave in the community as we saw them preparing lots of to-go orders
We initially came in to try the sushi but we’re a Lil put off by the pricing
Sushi in Baton Rouge should not run $20/roll.

Another very delicious meal! The cucumber salad is so refreshing and the rolls were excellent! The Atlantic Salmon appetizer was fresh and delicious! We had the Samurai Roll, Thuy Vi Roll, and the King Cake Roll. Lillian made good suggestions! The service was great!
This visit we ordered the Atlantic Salmon, the Thuy Vi Roll, and the Little Rice Roll. Everything was delicious. Thuy Vi Roll, cucumber salad, and the Atlantic Salmon are still my favorites.

The Lobster roll had delicious fried juicy lobster and the Tempura Calamari and Edamame were perfect and traditional. If you want authenticity, and something on par with Tsunamis or Mansurs On The Boulevard but a price that makes sense then please take your time to visit this establishment and pay respect to your taste buds.

My first time at Yama was a 10/10 experience. I had the V Roll and and it literally MELTS in your mouth absolutely my new favorite roll in Baton Rouge. The other one behind the Vroll is the Okinawa roll which was simple but good. Abe was our server and he was the best! So patient, helpful and suggestive. He took great care of my dad grandma and myself. He made sure everything was go our liking and even brought us some fresh pineapple after our meal! I will definitely be back and I can’t wait to try the Atlantic Salmon next!

Staff were very friendly. Our server, Lizzie, was awesome, very kind and attentive. They brought cheater chops out for my kids. Sushi is COLD and fresh tasting. Calamari was great. Burrito roll and Salmon Avocado roll were wonderful! I have to admit the Burrito was miniature. Like I almost laughed at how cute it was lol 6 bites for a small mouthed person. Delightful and will return!
