Even tho the place was super busy, the line moved quickly and our food came out fast. They had amazing customer service, everyone was super friendly, and the owner is truly the sweetest. The place is also so pretty. There’s some good places to take pictures, I loved the decorations. I definitely recommend this place and will absolutely be coming back in the future!
As for the food, we enjoyed it!! Delicious pan and delicious food! The chilaquiles and the beans were packed with flavor! I had ordered the brown sugar shaken espresso (love the one from Starbucks) and I loved it!! The croissant, the almond croissant, the mini cuernitos and mini conchas all had a good flavor. For bigger parties it can get pricy since it does cost a little more than maybe other places but it all depends. There’s other cafe shop options around town but sometimes we just want a good pan con café and for that I would return. I grew up with pan from the Pink Elephant(flavors changed now) in San Jose and tasting the pan brought back those memories.
I was really excited to try this new café since everyone’s been talking about it, but honestly, I left disgusted.
Seating is first come, first served, and we waited about 30 minutes for a table. Once we sat down, the food came out pretty fast — but that’s probably because it didn’t have flavor. I ordered an omelet that came with beans and breakfast potatoes. The beans were super watery, and the omelet tasted like it had been diluted with way too much milk.
My friend got the creamy chipotle chilaquiles ($13), added carne asada for $7, avocado for $3, and even got charged $1 for requesting her eggs over medium — almost $24 total. She said it wasn’t anything special.
I got an iced Mazapán coffee which was good not too sweet and not too bitter but again nothing special. 1 thing I will say all the employees were very nice.
The real problem was how many flies were inside. But the worst part was when my friend noticed a cockroach fall on my chest after we finished eating. I flicked it off, and it landed on our table. There were also a few small bugs flying around and even a spider on my friend.
For a brand new restaurant, that’s just not acceptable.
Two it gets very very busy and has limited seating! just one long row of seats. It’s overwhelming to see everybody standing around waiting for a seat or waiting/snooping for when the next person will leave. Also it’s very nice inside but feel like there definitely could be more tables added, I’m not sure a merch corner is absolutely necessary or just that big when that could be more seating.
Three the place has flies flying around
and 4 when I finally got my order it definitely looked great! But FOUND A HAIR in my food. They did redo my plate but came back with no egg. Which I specifically added to my plate.
The tables don’t have salt pepper or syrup no napkins you need to go get that yourself which is a bit inconvenient with all the people around.
5, they were working on the store and bringing in pallets & fixing up the wall i believe, and setting up a new trash can while everyone is in line which could be a hazard and the line was out the door. The staff was EXTREMELY nice and friendly! just feels very disorganized. I don’t think I will be coming back but their pastries are very cute! And the place itself is very nice. Over all paid over $65 which I don’t think was worth it. Cute place tho!
It was pretty crowded, which is a good sign. We ordered and then grabbed a table. The staff was very welcoming and friendly; they felt genuine, not rehearsed, like you get at a lot of restaurants.
The dining room was clean, bright, well appointed/themed. Loved the Manteca touches and airbrushed wall art. Behind the counter looked clean and well-organized. The table and chairs were fresh and clean. Overall, my impression was a very well run restaurant.
We got our food, and it was probably the best restaurant meal we have had in Manteca in a long time. I was sad when my plate was clean.
I only have one complaint but I am not going to ding them on the stars for this…the price. It is a little pricy but that seems to be the norm today, and the prices don’t seem to be holding people back from lining up to enjoy this awesome addition to Manteca’s food scene.
(No pictures to share so I guess I need to go back 🙂 )
The food was next-level. I had the chilaquiles with chorizo, and they were honestly the best I’ve ever had. My wife’s chorizo breakfast burrito was also stellar, and we both loved the our coffee (Americano and vanilla iced coffee).
The service was the cherry on top. The staff was so inviting and even gave my kiddo a cookie! It’s the perfect family-friendly neighborhood spot—we’ll definitely be regulars.
