When I came in I was greeted by a very nice young lady who took the time to answer all my questions about what to try. I opted to go with the Catfish dinner with fried okra, fries, and a slice of Key Lime Cake. The cake was amazing and hit the spot however what I thought was catfish was not I can only assume it was Cod as that was also on the menu. I was not pleased by that but I will still give them another try because the menu looked great.

Doesn’t have separate fryers to use for shrimp. My husband has a shell fish allergy. There are no signs warning that they cook fish and shrimp together or that there is definitely cross contamination. Thank goodness we asked someone. At first they didn’t know what to tell us then they figured it out. Crazy.

The location is a little intimidating, but don’t worry, the people are awesome and friendly. Some of the best barbecue and sauces I have ever had. Nice large helpings, we even ordered some to go. They are quick and attentive. Nice big dining room. It feels a little like a school lunch room. Very clean and orderly. The bathroom was clean and stocked. I will go again, next time I am in the area.

The catfish was excellent, ate it straight without any sauce it was so good. BBQ was on par with other good places and the greens were top notch. The only reason for reducing 1 star is the total overwhelming waste of packaging. Everything comes in styrofoam containers put in a plastic bag and then in a paper bag. It was awful how much of a waste it was to eat there. I ordered the side of catfish and it came in its own over the top packaging and even a second set of plastic utensils which I did not need. I would happily pay extra if they used real plates and metal silverware and real glasses. To be honest, I will not come back here for this reason. Please consider moving away from all the over packaging.. at least for those who choose to eat there.

Fried is great, Bar-B-Q was cooked well not as spicy as Cookout, but nothing a little hot sauce can’t fix. Would’ve gave 5 if the Mac&Cheese was homemade.

Had 30 min for lunch, and this place caught my eye. Had the pork bbq platter. It was fresh and tender, but could’ve had more smoke flavor. Not a big thing, though. The turnip greens and cole slaw were on point. Good, affordable food served extremely fast.

The pork BBQ tasted like it was boiled in water. No flavor at all. Luckily, the sauce was good, but I had to drown the q to get it to taste like anything. They threw in a couple of hush puppies that were excellent. The floor wand door, windows, etc, were filthy, and every step taken in there, by every person in there, made that horrible sound of your shoes sticking to the floor. You would think they would notice … Made me sad, as this was a great place years ago.

Our catering service was outstanding and the food was delicious. The food was well packed, delivered on time and with a smile. I would recommend ordering a large catering for a big event with these guys for sure!

The only reason I am giving this two stars is because my partner said the fried chicken was amazing.
For me, the BBQ was flavorless like reheated meat that was cooked days prior and poorly seasoned (it also looked reheated.) The “BBQ chicken” is just baked chicken covered in an average sauce; it was not very good. We asked for it not to be covered in the sauce and the employee said “no”, to which we asked why, and the employee just responded “no” again. The Brunswick stew was just an atrocity, it looked and tasted terrible. The macaroni was mediocre. We ended up just throwing most of the meal away despite it being expensive because it was just that bad. I was so disappointed by this meal especially after so many people recommended this place to us. We arrived an hour or so after opening to hopefully get fresh bbq, but it mainly seems like we got the precooked, reheated stuff instead.
Overall, you can get some good fried chicken here, but aside from that, the bbq is lacking.
