We stopped in to watch the Black Rock cliff diver and for a bite. Having stayed at this Sheraton several years ago, we were excited to share the experience with our kids. We were lucky enough to get a table with a great view of the rock. Our server was fantastic, unfortunately the food was not. We ordered chicken wings and nachos. The wings were tasty, but a bit rubbery and the nachos had the cheese sauce I though they only served at movie theatres and sports games. Super disappointing for this caliber of hotel. They are saved by the amazing view.

Great Egg Benedict and breakfast buffet, but don’t leave you food unattended

I have nearly 200 contributions to Google reviews/maps, and 90%+ of the time give five stars. Black Rock is not one of those five star ratings. The food was overpriced. The food was not good. The appetizer was a crab cake that was poor quality and was in a bed of the same tartar sauce you would find at a McDonald’s. The steak and blue catch of the day (fish) were both overcooked (despite ordering a medium-rate steak). Our server was friendly, which is why there’s at least two stars in my review. I eat out at restaurants — A LOT. This is the same price as Merriman’s, but way worse. I will not be returning.

A solid place to have dinner – the shrimp was quite good and the wedge salad was nicely done. The service was quite good. The menu has a good variety of offerings but not a lot of anything in particular. They could do to be a bit more upscale, as the setting is pretty informal.

The breakfast here is really, really good, although unfortunately it isn’t quite as good of late, it still merits five stars. Lots of fresh fruit, made to order options, waffle bar, and freshly squeezed juice make it an amazing start to the day. Dinner options are pricey, but the menu is good and it is very convenient if you are staying at the resort.

First night wonderful, service great, meal lovely.
Second time….. Disappointing
Had to wait 1:30hrs for booking, whilst looking at empty tables.
Table not ready for booking time, no side plates, no butter knives.
Wrong meals delivered.
When we did receive our meals, the food was nice.

Our first meal in Maui was the wonderful breakfast buffet!

But what started our five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stay at the Sheraton was our server, Jesse! He knows how to exactly meet your dining experience! His personality and kindness added the spirit to complement the wonderful selection of brunch items! Aloha! And a big thanks to Jesse!

My wife and I were staying at the Sheraton Maui resort for our honeymoon and elected to try this resort restaurant our first day after traveling.

Initial impressions were that the ambiance was amazing… it is open, lit by tiki torches and you can hear the waves crashing on the beach 50 yards away.

We walked into the restaurant, which was about 1/4 occupied with no reservation; they were not accepting walk-ins and we were turned away. We walked down the hall, got on OpenTable and made a reservation… suddenly things were good. The place was never more than about half full our entire meal.

The restaurant offers basic cuisine with a lack of anything truly unique, which was OK as were just going to get steaks. The wine list was pretty basic, but we managed to find a good bottle among the group. However, they don’t have proper wine glasses, so don’t get a bold red expecting it to open up..

Service was quick; our server was very motivated but was not well trained. Small things he did detracted from the meal… like pouring wine incorrectly, bringing entrees while we were in the middle of appetizers and not bringing steak knives for our steaks.

The food was terrible. As in one of the worst meals I have actually sat down to in years. The steaks we had were poorly cooked; very thin cuts that were inconsistent. The potatoes and mixed vegetables that accompanied the steak were old; you could tell they were pre-made and left under a heating lamp.

This is the only meal i can recall walking away from thinking that the bread was the best part. We have nothing but regret about wasting our evening at this establishment. We expected a Vegas quality resort meal and only ever saw the resort level bill.

Unfortunately an amazing location and ambiance is being wasted. If you are looking in this area for good food, there are other, better restaurants just up the beach.

I love this place. The food is top notch and the scenery is wonderful. The drinks are creative and fun but classic at the same time. Service is on par with most places in Maui. They have this live DJ on the weekends that I don’t think fits the ambience very well but that’s a minor complaint.

We ordered room service from the Black Rock while staying at the Sheraton and the food was terrible. We ordered the four course meal which came with caesar salad, shrimp scampi, braised beef, and a chocolate tort. We threw away the shrimp scampi and braised beef because it was so bad but the salad and desert were ok. I would not eat here again.
