Wow! First time dinner here on Valentine’s Day. Bright, clean dining area with tables lining the left and right walls and tables in the middle. Excellent sushi menu and a wide variety of hibachi with delicious sauces. Kids menu also. The house ginger dressing was the best I’ve ever tasted and I’ve been eating Sushi and Japanese and Thai for 30 years here in Winston Salem and its surrounding area. The music was especially great too. We’ll definitely return and highly recommend.

I don’t know if we possibly came on a bad day, but we wanted to like this restaurant so bad and we were surprised by the quality.
Two of us ate for a total of $75. We got a soda and a sweet tea. The sweet tea was definitely the Lipton powder mix with artificial lemon in it, I didn’t drink it.
I got Gyoza pan fried as my appetizer and my boyfriend got the spicy tuna roll. My Gyoza came out slippery and not pan fried at all. The dumpling dough was brown and tasted like it had been soaked in soy sauce. The spicy tuna roll immediately fell apart when my boyfriend started to pick it up, it was very difficult for him to eat.
Our entrees came and I will say my chicken and steak were beautifully cooked and seasoned to perfection. The sauces I ordered were subpar and very goopy, I also ordered noodles and fried rice and it came out with only noodles. The noodles were barely seasoned and had an odd aftertaste from the sauce they were cooked with. The “fried” rice was not fried at all, most pieces were still steamed, no sesame seeds, and no crispiness to the rice at all, it seemed they just added a little soy sauce and corn to steamed rice.
For the price, I wouldn’t be back with the quality of our meal. I feel the quality of this food is at more of a takeout Japanese level priced close to a “cook in front of you” hibachi restaurant. I will say though all of the staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, I really hope they continue to improve since they are still so new!

Fantastic. Great atmosphere for a chill date night or just a quick dinner. We picked out the steamed hibachi gyoza and two sushi rolls. Service was very quick, and the waitress was exceptionally sweet – even making a recommendation on a sauce to go with one of our rolls – and it was a great call to make!
Will definitely be back. Cost was fair for amount of food.

I visited Katsu with my family. I was impressed with the food and service. The food,service,and ambiance was all very good. The amount of food you receive was pleasantly surprising. My picky eating son extremely enjoyed all of his food. Katsu will definitely be on a regular rotation with my family! I definitely recommend them & will tell my friends to stop by.

My wife and I just got back from our first visit to Katsu. It was excellent! We got the sushi dinner for 2 and the dark dragon roll. Everything was superb. We both agreed that it was the freshest sushi we ever had! The service was also great. A young lady waited on us and she was a very sweet girl. It was not very crowded so the food did not take long. The owner or manager came by our table to see if we were pleased with everything and of course we were! My wife and I highly recommend Katsu and will be back soon!

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a little while, so maybe I just had high expectations. Or maybe I’m just used to having high expectations associated with the word “hibachi”. The food is fine don’t get me wrong. But for the price I was expecting more flavor. The portions are huge though if that’s important to you. I got the noodles which are just that- plain noodles, and the chicken and shrimp hibachi- which was decent but their version of fried rice is rice fried in soy sauce with a few pieces of corn thrown in. But when you mix everything together and add the yum yum sauce it does hit the spot. I will definitely need to eat in house and see the difference though, and try the sushi!

Everything about this place was amazing. Got better quality food than the hibachi restaurants in Winston Salem. The establishment was EXTREMELY clean. Service was 10/10. Made a mistake and forgot to tell them no veggies on one of my plates. They quickly resolved the situation for me even though it was my own fault. I also appreciate that they are open later on the weekends since most establishments close early. Highly recommend you going.

My husband and I ate here recently and we both enjoyed it! The service so friendly and helpful and the food was super yummy. I had the hibachi chicken and shrimp combo with fried rice. I do wish their portions were a bit larger.. I look forward to going back and trying the sushi!

Food was excellent. Ordered takeout on a somewhat busy Friday night. Things were a bit discombobulated/took a while but since it’s new, we’ll give them a little while to work out the kinks and definitely be back! Sushi & chicken/filet hibachi were fantastic. Bang bang shrimp also delicious/fresh.
