There seemed to be barely any meat on the beef ribs, which were dry as heck. The pulled pork and apple cobbler were only okay. The cornbread (not shown) fell apart very easily, but did have some sort of flavor. The broccoli should have been seasoned or flavored to deserve an extra charge. The only saving grace were the baked beans.
Overall, not worth the price paid.
I gave this place a fair shot. The first time I ordered ribs, they were dry, tough, and flavorless. Completely inedible for the price I paid. I reached out and to their credit, they promised to make it right when I came back in.
When I went back, they gave me a much better order — juicy, tender, actually what you’d expect from a BBQ spot. That gave me hope, so I decided to give them another chance and order again.
Big mistake. Same problem as the first time. Ribs were dry, barely any meat, no real flavor, and just overall low effort. It honestly feels like the only time they put in real effort was when they were trying to compensate for messing up.
For how expensive this place is, it’s just not worth it. Once the apology meal is over, you’re back to getting subpar food. Look at the pictures and decide for yourself — I wish I had known better. Total waste of my money. Not going back.
As for the food, it was ribs, chicken and burgers. The ribs were incredible. The meat was soft, little fat and almost falling off the bone. The burgers were very tasty and you can tell that it was good quality meat. The sides were robust in flavor and size.
We ordered two beef and pork rib plates, which came with half a rack and two beef ribs and two sides. A half chicken and four children’s hamburgers with sides. The total cost for everything was $101.00. This feed 5+ people. A very fair price for great tasting high quality meat.
I will definitely return and would recommend this restaurant to anybody that loves barbecue.
We usually order items off the a la carte menu, with the baby back ribs being a long-time favorite. We also love the potato skins, macaroni and cheese, hot links, BBQ chicken, the potato salad, and corn bread muffins. The BBQ sauce is also delicious.
One of these days, we’ll have to dine in. But in the meantime, we’ll continue getting takeout from this longtime establishment.
The picture is the tri tip potato skins. For my entree I split a two step combo which consisted of baby back pork ribs and the chicken breast which was insanely moist!
