I didn’t think of taking a picture of the smokehouse spud until I ate it, so I apologize for the picture taken. From the moment we walked in the door and Ashley took our order until the moment we sat at the table, our experience here was very pleasant. Maria came to the table to make sure that everything was up to our satisfaction. She even refilled my sweet tea – if you don’t know about McAllister‘s, they’re sweet tea is to die for and so are their spuds, but they also have a choose two menu. Ellie typically gets the choose two menu with their amazing chicken salad on a croissant and their tortilla soup is to die for! According to Ellie not me (I like their potato soup). Also, their standard cookie options and seasonal desserts are usually worth trying out.
Anytime I come in here, the floor is continually swept and the tables are cleared off. The bathroom is spotless and they’re always working with smiles on their faces. Thank you for another exceptional experience Maria and Ashley.

My wife and I came in to McAlister’s in Vernon Hills for dinner Friday night and we had a lovely experience. The manager Maria at the front end was so kind and very helpful helping us choose our food items. The dining room was spotless. The bathrooms were immaculate. You could tell she really knows what she’s doing. McAlister’s is very lucky to have Maria working for them. We will definitely come back

It was my first time dinning in with my kids at McAllisters. I’m impressed how clean this restaurant is . The lady that took my order , I believe her name is Maria was very welcoming and helped me out with food suggestions. The food was very good and well done. I will be back . 🙂

My family has ordered from this location many times, and the service and food is always great. Tonight, our car had a mini- accident in the parking lot due to the snow, and the employees came out to help with shovels and ice, pushing the car, and helping direct the car off a curb. Extremely helpful staff! I only got Keith’s name, but another young man helped as well. This solidified our reasoning for liking Mcalisters

This was my second time visiting, the first was the Gurnee location. Both visits were super enjoyable due to the fantastic staff employed at both. Nice, courteous, helpful, gentlemen. The food, salads both times, was delicious. Fresh, flavorful, great value for the money. Dining rooms clean, inviting. Decided to join the Rewards Program since I’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely disgusted to find a hair in my sandwich today—this is beyond unacceptable. On top of that, this location has a consistent track record of messing up to-go orders. Side items are frequently missing—today it was the mac & cheese from the kids’ meal, previously it was chips. It’s frustrating and disappointing, especially when these issues happen repeatedly. At this point, it feels like takeout customers are simply not a priority.
I’ve even spoken to the owner about these ongoing problems, yet nothing seems to change. While we used to enjoy the food itself, the lack of care, hygiene, and consistency at this location makes it extremely hard to trust or recommend. Never again!

Back at the hotel. Pretty good club sandwich. Freshly baked and toasted artisan bread, grey mustard, hickory smoked bacon would have made it better,but hey, gave McDonald’s a break

When walking into McAllisters, Maria and the cook looked to be the only ones working. Maria was able to run the register take orders and pass out the orders by herself. Maria was wonderful with our JPC transition students. We will definitely come back to see Maria.

Good sandwiches, huge spuds and salads. The McAlister’s Club is my go-to. The kids love it too! I could drink their honey mistard, it’s so good! Every sandwich also comes with a side of your choice. Delicious, fresh tasting, quality ingredients. And the staff has always been kind and helpful.

When they first opened, the food was really fresh and delicious.
But over the past few years, it feels like the quality has gone downhill.
For example, when you walk in, there’s no one at the counter—you have to go to the kitchen to call someone. Since it’s an open kitchen, you can clearly see all the staff on their phones, and then making sandwiches with those same hands.
Today was no different, I spent time just trying to find the cashier, and then ended up with a sandwich and soup prepared by staff who were on their phones. I couldn’t eat it.
The tables are always dirty as well.
I really hope the headquarters is aware of this and will make improvements
