My wife and I came here on Valentine’s Day and sat at the bar. The owner was incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome from the start. The portions were generous, and the quality of the food was outstanding. Everything tasted amazing — you can really tell they care about what they serve. We had such a great experience and will definitely be coming back again!

Completely impressed. I was genuinely shocked the moment I saw the rolls come out. I had no idea this place was known for huge cuts — and I mean HUGE. These are not your typical bite-sized sushi rolls you can pop into your mouth in one go. Every roll was literally the size of the palm of my hand, and yes… you will struggle to take a bite
What really surprised me is that despite their massive size, the rolls were packed with flavor. Nothing felt overdone or bland — every bite was balanced and delicious.
The sushi chefs went above and beyond with both service and friendliness. Huge shoutout to Brayan and Michael, who made sure we had everything we needed and really added to the experience. The servers were also great — attentive, kind, and on top of things even during a super busy time.
We arrived during peak hours, and it’s worth noting that they do close for a couple of hours in the afternoon before reopening in the evening. Parking can be tight because this place stays packed — which honestly says a lot.
Overall, the food, service, and experience were so good that this is definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to again and again (especially since it’s literally down the street from my buddy’s house ). If you’re a sushi lover who appreciates generous portions, bold flavors, and great service, this place is a must-try.

I had the Clark Ave roll and that was the BIGGEST Roll I have ever seen. It was $30 for that roll and my partner got a combination with salmon beef and chicken with rice and a small salad. Kinda pricey but it was really good

Went late with a large party and they were very accommodating. Service was very friendly. They took our order with grace considering all the questions we asked. When our dishes came out, we were simply amazed! To say it was “Super Sized” is no joke. Not only were the portions big, the quality was equally amazing!

I’ve tried sushi at countless places, including well-known spots in San Diego, and nothing compares to this experience. The service was excellent, friendly and attentive and the food was simply outstanding. I had a specialty roll, a rainbow roll, and the sashimi platter, all of which were incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The portions were very generous too. What really stood out was that my mother, who had never eaten sushi before, genuinely enjoyed everything we ordered. That says a lot! I’ll definitely be coming back to try one of the amazing specialty dishes I saw being prepared for other customers. Highly recommend this place to any sushi lover!

I’ve been going to Akasaka for over 20 years, and they’ve always had great business. The prices are reasonable for the portions they serve.
I usually get the sashimi or sushi combo—the fish is super fresh, and the pieces are big and thick. This time, I tried the Chirashi bowl ($49.99), and OMG, I loved the variety of fish! But the portion was so huge I couldn’t finish it. Definitely recommend sharing this one. Their dinner combos are also amazing, and each set comes with their popular fried chicken.
The restaurant is small but cozy. I’d give their service a solid 8/10.

Akasaka Sushi in City of Industry is a hidden gem tucked away in an unassuming corner! The sashimi is incredibly fresh—sometimes fresh, mostly super fresh—and the portions are generous, offering great value for the price. I highly recommend the tuna and scallop, and their soft shell crab is on another level of deliciousness—unlike anywhere else! It’s best to make a reservation during peak hours, as it can get busy. Parking is limited, but street parking is available. I’ve already recommended this place to many friends and hope they continue to thrive! A solid 5-star experience!
