Quite put off by the order up front method. Stood in line, not offered a menu to look at, and felt pressured at the register. Self service coffee? Decided not to stay and dine, just not the experience I was looking for.

Absolutely the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. To even get into this so-called “diner,” you’re forced to wade through a tacky gift shop—a harbinger of the disappointment that awaits inside. They demand payment upfront, and after eating here, it’s crystal clear why.
The coffee? Imagine motor oil left out in the sun to sour—it was that bitter. We ordered a burger, which was unmistakably a frozen patty slapped onto a grill, lifeless and flavorless. When I asked for mustard, they handed me a bottle that *expired in September* (and let’s not forget, it’s late December). I flagged it to the waitress, and instead of apologizing or fixing the issue, she casually tossed it back in the fridge and offered me some ancient, discolored mustard packets. Are you kidding me? Expired condiments weren’t limited to mustard; there were several others on the table. It’s as if they’re running a museum for rotten sauces.
The rest of the food? Cooked straight from the freezer with zero care. Not one person in our group finished their meal, and we’re not picky eaters. It was borderline inedible. What really sealed the deal, though, was the staff. When we left, the waitresses were openly laughing and making snide comments about how we’d never come back. Trust me—they’re right. Not even if they paid *me* to eat there.
This place is a disgrace to diners everywhere. Avoid it at all costs.

This was my first time at this place. I saw lots of people eat here and enjoy it! We got two Reubens with fries, and a chicken finger plate with fries. Also, Onion Rings. My son had a mishap with his bottled drink and I got soaked. The waitress was sooo helpful. She saw it and ran over with towels to help us. Within probably 10 minutes our food came out. Best fries I’ve had in a long time, Tastes like home made! Such a cute diner. I love the old style of it! The little country store is so cute! What we heard they changed the diner around, so I don’t know how it was originally. My son loved the moose out front too lol

We had a great experience getting breakfast while driving home. Right there on RTE 16 NH. Order when you walk in and sit in such a cool traditional American diner. You won’t find many in the U.S. anymore. They do a great job of maintaining it and keeping the place very clean. The food came almost as soon as we got our seats after getting our coffee and tea. Hearty, delicious, feel good food made the whole experience perfect. Fairly priced and friendly staff, we’ll be back. Too cool not to check out at least once!

You know it’s a serious cup of coffee when it comes in no nonsense paper. Best Ruben around. Scott, the owner, has run Miss Wakefield’s for over 20 years, and he said he’s had a lot of ppl stop in recently saying they’ve always drove past but now just stopped in.
He makes his hash from scratch. The beef for the Ruben is boiled in house and shaved thinner than paper. The sauerkruat had a nice sweetness about it too

Enjoyed the silver dinner experience. Brings back the nostalgia from my youth and the days of working for Mom and Pop small town business. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The service was fast and the food was great. The portions were great. Thank you for the memories!

Quaint little diner we stopped at driving through NH on vacation.
The BEST blueberry pancakes we’ve EVER had. I’m super picky about my pancakes… these had the PERFECT texture- a bit fluffy but moist (not dense and dry)… and the blueberries used were so dang fresh. Unreal. Delicious!!!

My wife and I haven’t been here for 2 years. Their business model is very different then before. Who ever thought of it, should be fired!!! So you enter thru the store and look at the candy. Then you order your food and drink at the candy store register. Then you sit down and the server delivers the food to your table. Big deal and why bother having a server? The whole diner concept is gone which is a real shame. The food quality isn’t as good as it was before. Unfortunately I have to cross this place off and move on.

We had breakfast and the total bill was $27.15 for 2. all we had whas an omlette and over easy eggs and one coffee, no juice. I spent less yesterday for lunch at a Chinese resturant with my daughter
