I seen a review about Gretel an son’s on Instagram like 2 weeksago.
Now I been feigning for soulfood for some years now since I moved to suffolk county, and when I saw this place was where we take our boys to go play, I was like bet…the next time we go, we gonna check them out.
Last night was that night!!!
I am totally a permanent customer!!!!!!!!
The food was immaculate!
We got a little bit of almost everything.
The beef was so tender and full of flavor, the grilled shrimp was not overpowering in seasoning. It let you taste the shrimp, the grill, and the sweetness those 2 things create just as much. The greens were perfect. I didn’t know that collard greens with kale could taste so good. The steamed cabbage was not overcooked, it still had crunch to it, the Mac n cheese … OMG my youngest son even ate it. And he is such a picky eater! The sticky wings and fish bites were perfect. The best for me though, was them candied yams. Omg I could put that in a pie crust an bake a sweet potato pie!!!
You can tell the juice they made was from fresh ingredients!
Alot of people say they could cook and it be a boldfaced lie, but this family can COOK!!!
I haven’t listed everything we ordered, but I can tell you my fat girl does not lie and this food was so damn good.
Not to mention the hospitality! They are so nice and down to earth. I had a good time with my family sitting there eating and cracking jokes!!!congratulations Gretel and Sons, you guys are going to go far. Your food tastes like it is full of love!

WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!! I went here to grab a quick meal because is I was hungry. When I got there first thing I noticed was how disorganized everything was. There were only two people in front of me but it felt like 8 because of how slow it was moving. The customer service is HORRIBLE. I noticed that this might take a while so I only ordered mac and cheese. I had to pick up my daughter and come back because of how long the wait was. A whole hour for some mac and cheese. Once I tried it I was so disappointed because if I’m going to wait that long it might as well be the best thing I ever had but it wasn’t, it tasted like all cheese and no mac and there is nothing wrong with a cheesy mac and cheese but this one was just oily and disgustingly cheesy with no other flavor whatsoever and the top wasn’t even crisp. Would never come again and horribly overpriced for it to be such a bad experience, $13 is insane.

A quaint establishment located on the second floor of the former Source Mall in Westbury. The owners were lovely! The food delicious! Order ahead,as many of the options are made to order. The sweet potatoes were scrumptious! The same for the rasta pasta that I paired with oxtail that were so tender. Go. You will not be disappointed!

I found this place on Instagram a while back and happened to be around the area, so I stopped by. First of all, the people who own the place are so nice! Lovely people and they enjoyed my excitement over good food While I was waiting, they gave me a nice little sampler plate to try and I immediately fell in love with the collard and kale greens, which are cooked in turkey bone broth. So flavorful and tasty! The rasta pasta, Mac and cheese, and the little dessert bite were also delicious! I ended up also ordering a side of the greens as part of my to-go order. I tried the pineapple mango jerk wings when I got home and they were so crispy with the yummy sauce on top. I devoured the whole thing! I really enjoyed the jambalaya (off menu item) and greens on the side, as well as their famous sweet potato bread, which she kindly reheated with honey butter before she packed up my order. It was all so, so good. Not to mention the homemade lemonade limeade, which you can customize with additional flavors. I got hibiscus dragonfruit and it complemented my meal so well. I will definitely be stopping by again next time I’m in the area!

I am a CIA alumni and former chef of 7 years. I have seen very little of what this business has to offer throughout that time. You can tell these chefs and the owner care very deeply for their restaurant. The food is beyond words, and the family that works here is so genuinely kind. SO much love went into everything I ate!!!! The Mac and cheese is what you dream about when you order mac and cheese anywhere you go. Unbelievable! Best chicken sandwich I have ever had. The yams and the sweet potato bread were the star of the meal! Keep it up! This place is a foodie MUST HAVE ⭐️

First off, the service at this place is amazing. You feel like you are part of the family. I tried The Fried Chicken Sandwich and they recommended some toppings to add to it. This sandwich looked so good when I opened it, I had to pull the car over to eat it and OMG it was the best chicken sandwich I’ve had in a long time. I highly recommend this place.

This spot is tucked away on the 2nd floor of the Samansea food court. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service we received was incredible. We could taste the love in every bite we ate. The mac & cheese was a thing of beauty, the fish bites were yummy, and the chicken wings were big, juicy, and perfect. We tried the pineapple mango jerk (spicyyy!) and BBQ Bacon sauces, and they seriously need to bottle these to go! The seafood bisque is worth every cent, as it is chock full of delicious seafood. And if you do nothing else, get a slice of their sweet potato bread with a scoop of their homemade vanilla ice cream. We will definitely be back!
