Amazing dining experience, in the most humble setting.
Nothing grandiose about this place. Just pure skill and craft at work. Whether it’s ice cream or a full dinner.
We were thoroughly impressed with the food and service.
Again, THE FOOD!!! I don’t do fine dining often, but Arethusa is the perfect example!

This restaurant is exceptional. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, they make excellent food and drink suggestions, are patient when you can’t decide what to eat (because everything on the menu looks incredible!), and concern themselves with providing an amazing dining experience. It’s crazy that a sleepy town houses one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. We chose this location to celebrate our anniversary and they made it very special. The vibe is cozy and classy, and the food is cooked to perfection. It’s easy to tell that the chefs love food and care about crafting delicious, palate exploding dishes. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their food!

My husband and I had been curious to visit Arethusa’s restaurant for the longest time, but have been saving it for a special occasion. We figured why not go for our first wedding anniversary! It exceeded our expectations and was exactly what we were looking for. We started with a tasty pretzel bun and Arethusa’s whipped butter, and we appreciated when they came around to ask if we’d like a second. The amuse bouche of chilled melon soup with mint was also a nice touch. We always love Arethusa’s cheese, so the artisan cheese board was a treat, and the braised duck dumplings were delicious and quite rich. Our entrees, desserts, and cocktails were all excellent, and they were kind enough to recognize our anniversary. Before we left, they came by with complimentary little guava bites that left us refreshed. Arethusa was everything we want from a fine dining experience. Quality food, professional and attentive service, but not a pretentious vibe. We were in and out in under 2 hours while never feeling rushed. I hope to come back to treat my mom for her birthday!

Arethusa is dialed in !!! Celebrating a second night in anniversary weekend we arrived pretty early on a busy night. They were most kind and got us a seat at the bar so we could have a cocktail and peruse the menu. It wasn’t long and we were seated and enjoying a lot of shared plates. The service was excellent. Everything expedited and followed up on. The cheese board was divine. A nice touch on desert. What a time. Glad we dressed up as there was a nice level of presentation going on.

Wow!…. I am very impressed with this restaurant, and very surprised to have found a restaurant of this quality out here in the middle of nowhere. The quality of the food in this place is really up there with some of the best restaurants in the world. I have to say that the way the food is described in the menu doesn’t do justice to what you actually get on the plate… and the little complemetary things they bring out throughout the meal make for an outstanding meal. My compliments to the chef …. Also, the service and ambiance were delightful. Truthfully, this dinner experience made top 10 of the best dinner experiences I’ve had in my years of traveling the world as a foodie. Kudos to everyone making of this place such a gem!

Easily some of the best food I have ever eaten, and I’m a picky eater! (Apologies for no photos, but I was too busy enjoying the experience and every bite). Cant recommend this place enough!

We dined as a party of 4 to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The restaurant was lively and a little loud. The cocktails were perfectly crafted and beautifully balanced. We enjoyed: The Bittersweet, the Mighty Manhattan, the Spiced Pear, and the Bantam Old Fashioned.

I was lucky enough to try quite a few dishes, and each one was exceptional: the butternut squash agnolotti, yellowtail tartare, braised duck dumplings, beet & endive salad with warm arethusa camembert, potato & leek soup, roasted diver scallops, black garlic rubbed prime hanger steak, & the braised short rib. I ended the night with a scoop of arethusa farm ice cream. Throughout the meal, the staff also gave some dels scrumptious complimentary treats.

For my husband’s birthday, they went the extra mile and gave him a hand written birthday card and wrote “Happy Birthday”on his dessert with a candle, which was really thoughtful. The servers also wished him Happy Birthday throughout the evening.

The service was quality, professional, attentive, and seamless. The dishes arrived at just the right pace & everything was beautifully presented. Nothing disappointed, in fact, everything exceeded our expectations. I can’t recommend this place enough! If you’re debating, do yourself a favor and ignore the few low google reviews and try Arethusa al Tavolo for yourself!

Possibly the best fine dining experience in Litchfield county! The food is always delectable and the service is impeccable. The complimentary treats from the chef before and after the meal are always appreciated. Recently tried a wild boar entree with a citrus slaw, which may have been the best menu item I’ve ever tried at the restaurant. Also had the duck entree which was stellar and highly recommend. This place is a must if you enjoy food!

Outstanding. The service is impeccable, the ambience provides for a most pleasant and enjoyable experience, and the food is exceptional. It’s not just well done from a technical standpoint, but the creativity that goes into it is rarely to be found. Every spoon that enters your mouth is another sensation, arousing your taste buds that have been lulled to sleep by too many other mediocre experiences.
An evening to remember for sure!
