Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

People at the counter could care less whether they take your order or not. I was the only person in line. Two people were standing behind the counter but would never take my order. Finally had to go to the kiosk to get my order in. Talked to the manager about the situation and he acted like it was no big deal. The restaurant was very dirty. There was a milkshake spilled at the entrance, outside on the front mat when we first arrived. It was still there when we left. The men’s room had no soap in the dispenser, so I don’t know how the employees were washing their hands. There was stuff on the floor throughout the restaurant. Won’t be coming back anytime soon.

First time trying it out. 10/10 for me I love me a seasoned burger. The fries are soo identical to McDonald’s. The burgers have a good flavor too. Patty melt was also flavorful. Came during a rush hour? A bit slow but oh well food was worth it.

Our first experience here (2/19/26) was AMAZING. Great food, great service. Hot, fast, and delicious. We thought this was one of the best places we’d ever been to eat. It was a little pricey, but we were ok with the price because it was SUCH a good experience. Well, they must have had the A-team working that day, because we haven’t been able to replicate that first visit. The food is ok, and the staff are also mostly ok. But it’s not the stand out restaurant we thought it was.

Upon first review, Whataburger is what McDonald’s would look and taste like if McDonald’s went to Texas for a week and took to heart the phrase “everything is bigger in Texas”. The fries are almost identical in my opinion to McDonald’s, however the burgers are MUCH larger. There is nothing particularly magical about their burgers… But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The workers at this location did a great job of dealing with such a large crowd! I went here around 2pm on a Thursday, and the lines were still wrapped around the building. I was impressed with how quickly they moved people through and got orders out to customers!
To wrap it all up, Whataburger, in my opinion, is nothing to write home about, but they do have a good burger and fries, and I’ll definitely be back to try their other menu items soon!

New location just opened up in August. The parking lot and drive-thru line were packed as well as inside. This location is a nice new building with ample parking for tables space inside. The dining room is nice and open with triangle dome in center and one wall having windows three rows high. The ordering process is quick and simple with options to order on the self service kiosk or in person at the counter. As a North Carolina transplant originally from the midwest I have eaten at Whatabu several times and consider the burgers and breakfast foods a staple. Within 10 minutes of ordering and finding a table we had our food. I got the limited time bacon wrangler double cheeseburger with their classic fries and a limited time Dr. Pepper blackberry shake. The burger was amazing as always, they always come up with exceptional limited time burger specials and as usual this one doesn’t disappoint! The fries were hot, crispy and fresh a perfect pairing with the spicy ketchup. The blackberry Dr. Pepper shake was perfect and a great way to top off an amazing burger on a hot day. Find your way down to a Whataburger today, you wont be disappointed.

I stopped by this location for Free Breakfast Friday, and got a Bacon Taquito for exactly $0.00! It was tasty and it only took about 10 minutes!
During my morning break, I scanned the QR code on my receipt and took a survey for a free burger with purchase of fries and drink. So for lunch, I had the classic Whataburger. Even without cheese, it was probably one of the best I’ve had! The bun was fluffy and not too chewy, the meat was succulent and larger than other burgers I’ve had, and the vegetables seemed to complete the ensemble rather than adulterate it! Speed of service was slower at lunch (closer to 30 minutes), but it was much more crowded, in their defense.
Even after the free breakfast promotion ends, I think I’ll keep coming back for lunch, though I’ll probably order online instead!

Not a bad burger place. Better that most chain restaurants. They aren’t as good as less say a In and Out burger. They do love mustard (comes standard). It’s all I could taste for hours after, was a bit much. I’ll have to remimber that next time I order. Cookies are good. Parking is bad, especially if it’s busy.

Took the leap today and joined the crowd with the fam at the new Whataburger. Place is insanely packed or was especially at lunch. But I will say everything went very smoothly! Didn’t wait long to order, and didn’t take as long as expected for food to come to the table. We had a group of 5 and the table was kinda small for us but we made it work. My son and I got the Bacon wrangler burger, fiancé got the sweet and spicy, the others got the classic burgers. Everyone was well pleased with their meals. All was fresh including the fries! We tried the spicy ketchup and the chipotle ranch. That ranch is great but it has a kick! I encourage you to give it a go but plan on the crowd! Good job guys!

This place was GREAT. Saw all the hype on TikTok and went for my birthday. The burgers were HUGE, the onion rings were freakin delicious (I ate some of my mom’s, I doubted you guys a little but was very pleasantly surprised.) The drinks in the soda machine were flat but their sweet tea options made up for it spendidly, and as soon as we told someone they went to get someone to fix it. Overall would go again! Spent around ~45 dollars total for three people.

Here is my review of the newly opened whataburger in Hickory. Today was opening day. The line was long for both the drive-thru and the walk-in, but the walk-in line moved much faster. The staff worked quickly and were very kind.
Our food was served surprisingly fast, considering how busy it was, and everything looked appetizing and was well presented. The burger was HUGE! These days, it’s rare to see an actually big burger since most places have downsized theirs, so I was pleasantly surprised.
The overall experience was a 10/10, and the food was a solid 9/10.
We also got a phone chord, t-shirt, sweat rag and bag.
