An absolute hidden gem!! We were on our way home from a day at Knoebels and we stopped in for dinner. It’s honestly such a vibe! Outback, cabin, friendly vibe. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was *chef’s kiss! The apple pie and ice cream was an incredible ending to a great day! Absolutely will be back again when in the area!!

Mary and her staff were great! The atmosphere was so relaxing. We loved seeing the ducks walking around. The food was amazing! Highly recommend the lobster ravioli. We will be coming back.

I am not going to lie, I really thought this place was a house every time we passed it. A very big beautiful house, but a house nonetheless. However, my significant other somehow found out that it was in fact a restaurant. Let me just tell you that this whole place screams comfort. The food was amazing and tasted home cooked. I never eat all my food, but the serving sizes were perfect! The owner had a great personality and the stories she told about the place added to its charm. You also will have entertainment from the wild roosters and ducks running around. Highly recommend. I fully intend on going back to this place!

I don’t know where to start. It never even seemed like an option for myself or my now husband to get married in the coal region. Not for any reason other than, none of the venues seemed to fit our style- except The Olde Stone. From the very start, Mary was more than a pleasure to work with and every-time we spoke you could see how excited she was for the event. She gave us complete free range, offered suggestions beyond what we could imagine for the space and was always willing to work through our ideas.

Fast forward to this last week, watching the weather change hourly and finally, last minute on Friday, having to pivot our plans to make it work with the impending weather from hurricane Ian. I can’t even begin to explain how assuring and flexible Mary was- offering solution after solution after solution. And all of that doesn’t even take into account how flawless and perfect her and her staff’s execution of our day was.

From the beauty of the grounds, the cozy rooms and suite we stayed in all weekend, the presentation and above average food served- there are NO WORDS. We were the first wedding at The Stone and I cannot wait to see how with each one, the team somehow can- and WILL make it better and better.

We have nothing but gratitude to Mary and her amazing staff. To say that you made our day special and flawless would be an enormous understatement. We are so honored that our friends and family got to see and appreciate The Stone like we do. Thank you, thank you.

Love always,
The Wilde’s ✨

We stayed in one of the rooms upstairs. Everything was wonderful. It’s such a beautiful and relaxing location. The 1810, stone barn was beautifully decorated with antiques. It’s only about a 10 minute drive from Knobels. I would not recommend this site for people with kids. It’s a romantic getaway type of a place with a restaurant and bar downstairs.

There is no wifi.

This place is really cute! The history is amazing and they are excited to share it with you. Food is mostly decent. The steak sandwich really is amazing, very tender, great with onions and mushrooms. Fish sandwich was not good. Apps are all pretty good. Soup was just normal soup. Where our issue was was the service. It’s hard to guess how much is short staffing, organization, or lack of experience with a bigger group, but if you come here just plan twice as much time as you think you would usually need. Even just getting water took several requests. Not to say everyone isn’t really nice though! There is a really nice drink selection inside, but if you sit out side you will need to go inside to look as there isn’t a drink menu.

I wish I could give this more stars. The mojito was phenomenal. One of the best I’ve ever had. The crab fries were delicious and I absolutely recommend you try them. The Reuben sandwich – incredible. Fresh made with house made dressing ( everything they serve is house made, but this really stood out). Dessert was warm apple pie a la mode, and I can’t begin to describe how incredible it was.

The only thing that could rival the meal was the atmosphere. There is a lot of history in this beautiful building. Mary is an incredible host that treats everyone like an old friend and you will want to spend hours talking with her.

If you’re in the area, you absolutely must stop in. I’m counting down the days until I can return for a drink and some time by the fireplace listening to Mary’s stories.

Our family gathered here after my mother’s funeral services. An amazing amount of history and even more amazing amount of work and effort in the owners journey to create such a wonderful place!

We came across this hidden gem by accident and I am so glad we stopped! The staff were incredibly personable and welcoming. My husband and I both got Classic Cheeseburgers and the toppings were fresh from the garden. Absolutely loved the side of homemade salsa. It was a rainy day so the fire was burning inside the house. There was a beautiful outdoor area that would be great when the weather is nice! Will definitely be returning!
