We had 3 plates, beef, pork, and orange chicken. The orange chicken was decent. We also got white rice and lo mien. We had fast service for delivery, other than that none of the food was great. Would give it a 3/10 . Only giving 3 stars because it wasn’t horrible. Would not return.

I have visited Big Bowl about eight times so far, and generally have been happy with it. I prefer the rice over the combo of rice/noodles, but even the rice is just not great. The main dishes are pretty good though! My last dish was the General Tso’s Chicken, and it was great!

Love this place!
And if you dine in, which I recommend, come hungry because they do not mess around!
The food is amazing, fresh, and plentiful, and the lunch specials are amazing!
Here’s what I love!
Lunch special was under $10 for a bowl (not a tiny saucer cup) of egg drop soup.
They have all of the sauces and seasonings available for you to grab at your leisure, without having to ask or wait on someone to bring it to you. And they have every kind of sauce and versions of soy sauce, not just soy and low sodium soy.
Then the giant plates of, (this time it was Mongolian beef and sweet and sour shrimp), came hot and freshly made to our table along with rice and noodles and an eggroll/springroll…pretty much delicious tucked into a lightly crispy vessel making it easy to shove it down my throat hole!
And the extra thought Big Bowl puts into their service and desire your you to really…really, enjoy your meal, is hard to miss! They brought out a bowl of sweet and sour so I could sauce my shrimp as I ate, with however much or little I wanted so my giant shrimpies didn’t have a chance to sit and get soggy while I made my way around the plate! Super thoughtful and an amazing touch:)
I really wanted to eat everything at once! We were presented with a Chinese cookie and the traditional fortune cookie, along with to go boxes, all while chatting with Sandra, who had remembered my companion as a loyal customer. She remembered where he had previously worked and even knew my brother, who wasn’t even there. She really makes you feel welcome and that the food was made just for you! And it was!!
My recommendation for Big Bowl is GO!!
No, really, go!
Go now!!!
You will not be disappointed!
Great prices, fantastic atmosphere and employees and freshly made food that will fill you up!!
Go on now! Get outta her and get to Big Bowl! Broadway and Gilbert in Mesa!!

Ordered sweet and sour chicken, crab rangoons and paid the upcharge for the fried rice. This is the fried rice. No meat, no vegetables and no egg. Just plain white rice with soy sauce on it. It was also dried out. I had to pay extra for this? Not happy.

The food was OK not terrific. It was a little salty. We ordered some additional side items the chicken egg rolls and the Thai tea boba. Both were good. Did ask the server questions about all items she unable to answer any questions. She knew nothing about the menu. She was very slow with preparing the Tea we almost changed our mind. I believe with a little less salt and a knowledgeable server the place may be able to get 2 more stars from me.

Best Chinese I’ve ever had. Ordered way too much and got sad when I couldn’t eat it all. The sweet buns are basically soft churro balls. The honey shrimp was DIVINE, I saw the face of God. The mongolian beef was flavorful in a way that needs to be savored, but you won’t be able to because you’ll be shoving the next spoonful in right after. The veggie plate with tofu had an amazing clean and subtle flavor that goes down easy (I suggest this especially if you are sick and need something light.) 10/10 Food. Caring Servers. Just ignore the wobbly table and fall in love with the food!

Wow, what a hidden gem! I can’t get over that it’s been right here in central Mesa all this time and I haven’t been fortunate enough to have had the chance before now but I’m so glad that all changed. We stopped one afternoon for lunch at work and all 6 of us were thoroughly impressed. This was one of the cleanest facilities I’ve been in. The restroom was extremely clean as well. The menu was full and I look forward to trying a lot of items in the next few years as this will be going on my go-to list of Mesa lunch favorites. Thank you Big Bowl for doing everything perfect!
