I was feeling under the weather and sushi always cheers me up. My partner picked up the 39R and the pork katsu curry rice. The sushi portion was big, so I was unable to dig into the curry, but the smell is mouthwatering and i cant wait to dig in later!
My partner said a lovely woman tended to the order and the photos of memories on the wall gave evidence to a life filled with love and Seattle. Excited to visit in person some day!

More of a take out place. Food was ready fast. It was super hot. Had to wait a few mins before I could eat it without burning my mouth. Taste was delicious. More authentic style than American. But it’s atop Beacon Hill so what would you expect. No parking and no seating area to eat. Just a few chairs so you can wait for your order. Had to park a block away and eat in my car. No regrets…

Quick, clean, and modest sushi. Great addition to the neighborhood!
Large rolls. A wide variety of Japanese dishes. The Chirashi bowl is a fantastic deal and so are the sushi combos!
Small selection of cakes in their fridge for dessert.

Kept it simple, had the teriyaki and an avocado roll. Both were adequate, but I would have paid a little extra for a more generous helping of teriyaki. The flavor of the sauce was pretty good and the chicken was charred well. The rice had good texture and the salad dressing had some kick. The avocado roll was ok, I think it got a little warm being packaged with the teriyaki, so I can’t speak to the texture but the flavor was fine.
The person behind the counter is an absolute gem. 11/10.

I really like the chirashi bowl, the tempura, and the garlic shrimp. The tempura is nice and light and they provide a good amount of food for the price.
Real nice people and they do take phone orders.

Chirashi was awesome. Fish was fresh, the mushrooms, ginger, and wasabi were generous. The egg was really flavorful. Rice was properly seasoned. Good value at $15.

Meh. I tried the katsu, it was really bland. Had some poke, too, it was tasteless. And it was also an odd grey green color. I’ve been eating poké for decades and I’ve never seen it this color. It smelled ok, I don’t think it had gone bad but it was really unappetizing. Overall, bleah, I’ll never go back.

If it wasn’t somewhat edible, this would be a 1 star review. Ordered the poke bowl, and it was very much disappointing. Tuna was dry and multicolored. Its not even a poke bowl, its tuna sashimi with rice. Absolutely zero flavor, i highly doubt it was marinated but just cubed up right when it was ordered. Although i appreciate the effort, there was way too much going on with the bowl. Wasabi, avocado, and pickled ginger in a poke bowl? This is one instance where less is better. Might go back and give the other items a chance, but avoid the poke bowl at all cost.

I get takeout for lunch semi-regularly – they are always so fast, kind, and quality. It feels more old-school Seattle, including their teriyaki!
They are one of the few places I’m willing to call instead of ordering online. I would love it if they had an online pickup option though. Either way though – support this affordable, delicious neighborhood spot!

Far too expensive for what you get. I had the Poke, which was almost $14 after tax, and doesn’t even come close to comparing to Just Poke, which is sub $10 the last I was there.
Will not be coming here again.
