French bistro in the heart of Highwood, Illinois with a beautiful outdoor dinning area. Tall oversized candles on each table to creat a romantic atmosphere. This cozy Bistro will bring you back to Paris. The service and food are exceptional and voted the Best onion soup in Chicago.
Bustling, upscale French bistro & bar with a few Cuban accents in a cozy setting with a patio.

From beginning to end the whole experience here was excellent. Our waiter and servers were very attentive. I absolutely loved the complementary bread. I’ve never had bread with black olives and it was delicious. The oysters were very fresh and our dishes were full of flavor. Thank you Miramar Bistro for the excellent experience.

Absolutely love- love- love this place. Even if the food sometimes not the “Michelin level”, but the atmosphere and service always amazing. Romantic music, actual candles and very nice interior. Parking is not that hard to find and there is a valet.

First time here, and probably the last for my wife and me. Everyone else in our party seemed impressed, but for the price, I expected to be blown away. Dinner for 7 was over $1,000 (before tip), and honestly, it just didn’t deliver. Service was fine, presentation was nice, but the food was just… okay. My linguine and clams came out lukewarm, and my wife’s Italian crepes were basically a bowl of sauce with limp pasta floating in it. Drinks, on the other hand, were solid. We were here for a birthday party, and the birthday girl was happy- that’s what mattered most. For me though, the hype didn’t live up to the bill.

Everything on the menu looked fire. Plus, what we ordered delivered. Specials were creative, classics were solid, and my stomach left very satisfied. I got the mac and cheese, and let me tell you that they turned “simple comfort food” into a gourmet main event. That cheese stretch? Straight NASA-level! It went so far.
The outdoor patio had a perfect sunset view, which made the whole vibe feel like vacation mode. Service was on point too. My water glass was rarely empty (I am huge on refills because I love my H2O).
Overall, Miramar Bistro nails flavor, service, and scenery. 11/10 would recommend. And bring your appetite (the desert is filling and scrumptious too)

It was a beautiful afternoon as we drove by this restaurant. We were hungry, so we sat at a table outside. The server came out and asked what we wanted for a drink, and I asked what the specials for the day were. He mentioned sea bass with lemon zest, which is not on the menu. I’m convinced I ordered it. It’s delicious. A few hours later, the restaurant was packed. It’s a nice, cozy place with an outdoor setting.

Excellent experience. Food and service were just great. Street parking was easily found. Service was very attentive and just right. The escargot was very good. Tried to control ourselves with the bread basket. Wine pairing was also pretty good. The atmosphere was cozy and the music welcoming.

We ate here about a week ago for my husband’s birthday dinner. We’d never been before. The food was delicious but what I was really blown away by was the level of service. Very professional, courteous and extremely efficient. I really get irritated by restaurants that don’t care about timing of courses but I thought Miramar staff really paid attention to that. We ordered seafood appetizers along with bread and olives & charcuterie and they allowed us time to enjoy it before bringing our main course. This seems like common sense but so many restaurants get it wrong. The atmosphere was very lively and fun. We will be back!

Miramar in Highwood is outstanding. The French onion soup is next-level—deep, rich, and absolutely addictive. And the lamb chops? Best I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, insanely tender, and packed with flavor. On top of that, the staff is fantastic—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Amazing food, great vibes, and top-notch service. Don’t miss this place.

“Steak frites” was very hard to cut though cooked to temperature. Table next to ours had same issue. The menu curiously doesn’t identify the cut of steak; server struggled when he said it was New York Strip. Certainly did not taste like it. Maybe just poor quality reject leftovers from night prior (Valentines day). “Frites” were identical to the Frito Lay potato stix I used to eat as a kid. Roasted duck(?) was bland (under seasoned) as were the green beans. Wrong glass was provided to pour our wine. I would suggest that staff wash their hands after grabbing the bathroom door for someone BEFORE returning to cut the bread ungloved, which was done in plain view of diners. Wife says the steak and duck I make at home on occasion tastes better and I’m not even that great a cook. Server was attentive but our meal was not worth the 200 price at all.
