Snagged a reservation on a Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised with almost everything we ordered.

First, the vibe is great. Cozy and romantic and we were seated with a great view of the open kitchen, which compared to some other open kitchens, was humming away and directed by the head chef/owner.

We first ordered several dishes from the tapas menu: Eggplant, Albondigas, Bacalao, and Beets. The eggplant was custardy on the outside and perfectly charred on the outside and its savory yet sweet profile would convert any eggplant hater. The beets were nicely steamed and sprinkled with a flavorful pistachio dukkah, though the coconut kefir swoosh on the bottom wasn’t super flavorful. The albondigas were good, the pork/beef mix a bit overworked but the tomato sauce they were in was bright and perfectly spiced and made a perfect sauce to dip the DELICIOUS housemade sourdough slices this course came with. Last of these was the bacalao fritters, perfectly fried and topped with a citrus aioli. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Order these.

Next was the raciones course, which is basically just tapas but just more meat centric. We ordered the chicken leg with berbere and saffron cous cous (came with housemade pita bread squares) and the Spanish sausage with roasted long hots. The chicken was our least favorite of the night. Overcooked and lacking much flavor, though the couscous made up for it with its saffron essence and sweet and soft dates and apricots. The pita bread, just like the sourdough was DELICIOUS. (Can you tell I like bread?)

The sausage was salty and perfectly charred and another favorite of the night.

They have a tapas/raciones tasting menu for $55 and the above cost two of us about $100 so we might try the tasting menu the next time though, we left full satisfied.

Definitely will be back!

It is overall a little pricey but offers high quality food. The paella has a lot of protein on top and the rice has a nice crust in the bottom. I wish they have a paella option with no seafood but not vegetarian. Also, they need to reduce the wait time for the paella as well; 1hr wait is quite long. The meatball is very good as well. It’s not as sour as the meatball in Italian restaurants; it has a good sweet and sour balance. I don’t like the sauce of the grilled octopus.

Fun place for a night out with some friends. Great drinks, 5 course tasting menu had absolutely no misses. Chefs choose what you get and it was all amazing. The paella was of course the star of the show. The cod meatballs and strip steak were also top notch. Dessert was phenomenal as well. Shoutout to Katie for her kind and warm service. Can’t wait to come back

We tried tapas: shrimp, grilled oysters, and seafood. Everything was fresh and delicious. The desserts were also delicious.

Used to be a really famous restaurant and went there on my friend’s birthday. The tapas and flatbread tasted amazing, definitely worth trying, but our main dish took too long to serve. We waited for half an hour, barely no dine in, and the waiter did not check on us. We could only tasted the saltinesses of Paella…

The food was incredible. I was lucky enough to visit Madrid this summer. Although I didn’t find the Spanish hunk of my dreams, I did enjoy authentic tapas and I can tell you right now that these tapas are every bit as fabulous as the real deal. We ordered the Blanco chorizo and Manchego charcuterie, both of which were served with a lightly salted sourdough bread which was just PERFECT. We also enjoyed the croquettes, pan con tomate, grilled oysters, Spanish bouillabaisse, and charred octopus. All of which were fantastic. The bouillabaisse was amazing and I would sell my cousin to try it again.

Our waitress was a taller young woman with shoulder length brown hair and incredibly sharp and fabulous eyeshadow. She was very quick to bring out food, very friendly, and engaged in polite conversation. I do not know her name, but if you figure out who she is, send her my appreciation and thanks for making our night so flawless. She definitely deserved a better tip than my stingy cheap skate family was willing to provide.

The interior was warm and cozy which is absolutely necessary in this snowy weather. It is kind of dark, features warm colors and comfy seating. It was my second time going but certainly will not be my last. Blown away and absolutely in love with it.

love the decor & atmosphere of the place upon first glance. cute place to go for a date night, drink, or family dinner. in terms of service, it was a little lackluster. we got the impression that our initial waiter clocked out and forgot about our table for a bit, but the young woman we ended up with was exceptionally nice. just a lot of thumb twiddling for the beginning of our experience.

in terms of food, the two standout dishes were the eggplant and NY strip steak. this was seriously the best eggplant i’ve ever eaten and i am still craving it. it’s very sweet yet perfectly savory and i’d love to come back just to order that again. the steak was accompanied by a delicious sauce that really tied the whole dish together. we did order the vegetable paella, and i have to say that it was underwhelming compared to other paellas i’ve had in terms of taste and price point. we went into this experience expecting to be wowed by the paella but the steak and eggplant really won the night! the basque cheesecake was mediocre but the creme brûlée was DELICIOUS, the citrus & cinnamon combination hit the spot.

We came for Restaurant Week – $45 a person. It was dead inside — maybe 4-5 other parties max. Our hostess came to our table, took our order, and was very polite. After she took our order, she did not check on us again for another hour and a half.

Sadly, I could not recommend this dining experience to anyone. We spent a total of 2 hours at the restaurant, and waited almost 30 minutes between courses. We ordered everything up front, but our dessert order was not put into their system, and we sat for ~45 minutes between our second course and dessert.

Not to mention, a member of our party had a food allergy that was not taken seriously. Been in Philly for about a year – easily the most I’ve paid to have a bad time and feel ignored by wait staff for 2 hours. Food was eh, to top it all off.

If this is how your team operates during restaurant week, I have no desire to return again.

What a great evening! We decided to go here for my birthday and I’m so happy we did. This was more than just a dinner it was a whole experience. We all (7) decided to do the 75$ tasting menu and I cannot recommend that enough. It really was a great way to try new flavor combos and new foods. They also ended up giving us foods not even on the menu and everything was absolutely delicious. They even brought our desserts for the table at the end for my birthday, it was so kind! By the time we were done it was near 11, an hour after they close. We felt bad that we didn’t realize it was so late but at no point did we feel rushed. Excellent ambiance, excellent service, and most importantly EXCELLENT food. We all left satisfyingly stuffed. Would definitely love to return.

This place was 15/10 and I highly recommend. The feel in the bar area was exciting and then in the back with the dining area was so cool. The food though was absolutely incredible. I tried the Chef’s special because they said it was a food adventure and I can definitely say that it was quite an amazing adventure. If you can let the chef pick your food and if you’re open to try different flavors I’d for sure do it!
